How many would now remember the Crosville F19 Birkenhead Woodside to Heswall bus route?

Every school day from Woodside bus station. Sometimes used to go look from Church Street railway bridge at ships being repaired down in the dock next to the railway station and go into Woodside Station to look at the steam engines waiting there. In those days drivers would allow school children to get up into the engine cab and see the fire and controls. 🙂 Also around that time travelled from Woodside Station to London by steam train (as was usual then) and back.
