I finally had a chance to order that book on Japanese sword polishing that you had mentioned several years ago in an older video. I can’t wait until it gets here. Great video !

Great video, and nice stones, especially the Nakayama stone at the end of the video. It's nice to see you in the honing business again.

Ty - I never left the 'honing business'. lol. I have put out a new video once a month, maybe 2x a month for years now.

Never knew the rockstars came in those metal cases. I'm surprised shapton moved away from including a base. The new microphone sounds much better, less reverb.

Only the Pro Stones came with a case, still do. The Glass Stones only came in cardboard but you could buy a set with a rubber holder that reminds me of the insert in these metal cases.

Hi Keith great vid that chorsara 3 k looks like a nice quick cutter since your vid honing in the 1800 have you used your washita stone for setting a bevel cheers

Hey Johnny, I sold my Washta a while ago. I don't keep a lot of stuff around for too long usually..

Do you use a rolling stroke for all of your razors? If seems like you do, but it's hard to tell on videos unless you exaggerate it.
@KeithVJohnson13 ай бұрын
Depends on the blade. Most of my razors have not been in videos. A lot of practice/test/beater razors have smiling edges so they can be candidates for rolling strokes.

Is it possible to purchase Japanese natural stones from you?

Remember I'm a hunting knife and pocket knife guy. I have Norton's and Arkansas stone's. I gotta try some of those. Honestly which ones do you recommend that I get and try?
@KeithVJohnson13 ай бұрын
HI, thank you for watching. This channel pretty much caters to straight razor enthusiasts, almost exclusively. I don't usually make recommendations; everyone is different, everyone has different tastes, likes, needs, etc. There's no way to cover it all.
@rickwhitson28043 ай бұрын
@@KeithVJohnson1 that's ok. I thought I might get a little insight to some new or different type of stone. I didn't mean to waste your time so I'll happily move along. LOL

Sir, when I try to send a message through your website, it redirects me to a phishing site that appears to be involved in fraudulent activities. Just wanted to inform you for your awareness.

Hi, thank you for contacting me. The redirect notice you are seeing is because my set up routes messages through karelia.com. I have it set up like this for security reasons. That is my web host, not a Phishing site. The message from your browser is probably related to an outdated certificate of some type, which is something I do not have access to. I am probably going to take the contact page down when I have the time.
