Would you do a Via Ferrata, or does it seem a bit too extreme? I'd love to hear from anyone who has done any of the Via Ferrata's in Italy's Dolomites? too - are they similar to this one or would they require a better level of fitness? It's always looked very appealing to me so am open to hearing more about them.

Thats great that you're up (excuse the pun) for conquering your fear of heights by doing this. Little by little I think you can often beat fears like this. I used to be terrified of swimming in the sea but the thought of missing out on cool sea based activities has made me just go for it more often. I hope all goes well with you doing this 🙏

Looks amazing! We have done an incredible via ferrata in West Virginia in the United States and would love to do more of them someday. So fun!

Ooooh, I follow another KZbin channel called Adventures of A+K and they did a via ferrata in West Virginia, I bet it was the same one. Their video was the inspiration for me to book onto this Via Ferrata as it looked like so much fun. I'm pleased you enjoyed your experience doing one too!
@NeverStopAdventuring2 жыл бұрын
@@WhenAdventureKnox yes we follow them also, and that is the same via ferrata we did years ago. It was really fun!

This is definitely an extreme tour!! We have been really interested in trying something like this lately so we’ve signed up for a rock climbing gym to try to get in the groove before we try it for real! Loved seeing your adventure-it’s inspiring us to get out there and keep trying new things!
@WhenAdventureKnox2 жыл бұрын
That's cool that you have a rock climbing gym near you and you've signed up. I've never tried rock climbing and on the company's website, it said really clearly that you didn't need to have any climbing experience, and I guess its because it's man made and designed to not be too tricky. I believe the Dolomites in Italy is one of the best places to do a via ferrata, not sure if you plan to head that way this summer. I gather there is a small window in the summer and early autumn when you can do the trails as snow is problematic, even in late May!

Thanks Caroline for sharing. I think you and Andy are very brave. Don't think you can do that in the US the insurance would be out of this world. It looked like watching Army Rangers School mountaineer training. I enjoyed watching you and Andy doing it, but it is to extreme for me. Although I feel I'm fit, I would not do it. Maybe a few years ago I would have given it ago. I am always surprised to see real mountains in the UK, that look like Canada or Colorado not England. Love your videos and as always stay safe and have fun. Cheers 🧔

We have a lot more mountains in Wales and Scotland than in England. We usually refer to the Lake District as 'fells' rather than mountains, but I agree that the Honister Pass does look more like a mountain when you're in it. I follow a Van Life couple who are US based - their channel is Adventures of A+K and ironically as I'm replying to you, they lived in the PNW before switching to van life, but I digress. They did a Via Ferrata in West Virginia - though it was crazy expensive so I bet it would have been due to the insurance premiums which naturally must be passed onto customers. It was their video that inspired this Via Ferrata trip too. Truth be told, I don't think Andy would have done this had it not been for my excitement to do it so was proud of him for soldiering on! Really pleased you enjoyed the video and got to experience something virtually that you wouldn't have wanted to do in real life!

Hi Khatoon, I am well thank you (albeit loosing my voice) I hope you're well too. I had no idea Scotland had a Via Ferrata too. Next time I'm up that way, I'll need to check it out. The Lake District is very popular with holiday makers, mostly from the UK, but it attracts a good amount of international tourists too.

Buckling my seat belt for a journey through the Lake District and if your opening clips are anything to go by this is going to be a crazy ride! Speaking of buckling up, that safety equipment was definitely put to good use on your opening adventure - glad you've got a head for heights! To be honest I don't know if I could do something like this, it makes me giddy just watching you! If I ever gave it a go I'd have to wear gloves as I'm sure my hands would be sweaty and slippery. Did you get offered gloves or is it best not to use them? Ha I can relate to what you said about the Gladiators - it all looks so easy when it's on TV!
@WhenAdventureKnox2 жыл бұрын
I don't remember seeing any gloves and thinking about it, I'm not sure if they'd give enough grip - though I see the point about them maybe being better than if hands are sweaty from the nerves. I take back my desires of wanting to do the eliminator from gladiators. Far too much effort!

We have been thinking of doing this but didn't think we were allowed to film. Did you have to ask permission or were you just allowed to do it? We are up again in September and if we can film will book to do it. Thanks.

Hey guys. I'd read on their website that they couldn't guarantee a helmet with a go pro mount but that they sid have some. We got there super early and of all the helmets laid out for our group, there was 1 with a mount. I asked if I could have it and the staff in a friendly way said 'quickly just grab it before anyone else does'. Of the 3 staff members we passed, 2 commented on the camera but in a very friendly way to strike up a conversation. Whilst I didn't technically ask for permission, we were so blatant about it I hope you too would be OK. I hope this helps. 🙏

I love that you listed Borrowdale first. I fell in love with the Borrowdale valley on this trip and can't wait to share it with you in a few different videos. Buttermere is lovely, a lot more secluded and natural than other areas of the park. I didn't go on this trip, but we have another Lake District trip planned so hopefully we'll make it there next time.
