our people gathering together to wake up the people from ena's dream was essentially "the strong defending the weak" its crazy this patch's writing is crazy. for three patches we have been pondering abt why life slumbers, and now we have the answer. bc "we will eventually wake up from the dream." the reprieve isnt forever. we cannot escape and dream for the rest of our lives bc that is essentially taking away our freedom and self. i absolutely love acheron's reasoning of how in desperate times, the people will want to live and survive. it all comes back full circle to ratios quest in 1.6 and his lines in the ending, where he says "it is only in times of despair that fools grasp how to pick themselves up." through despair, we gain hope, and through hope, we /dream/. sunday wants happiness and safety for his people, and thinks that only by locking them up in a cage can true happiness be achieved. he thinks that when people are free, they will inevitably crash into darkness. but he fails to realize human sympathy. in times of darkness and despair, humans will pick each other up and build themselves up side by side, much like what is shown in dreamflux reef. they will crash down, but they will get up again. the weak will empower each other and gain strength. humans will not realize true happiness through eternal bliss. this is also why sunday's idea of order contradicts with the trailblaze, and what mikhail wouldve wanted, bc sunday wants people to essentially be trapped so they can be safe forever, but the trailblaze is all about venturing into the unknown and being ready to face whatever it may be. the writing for penacony is insane, ive just loved every patch so far, and im very excited for 2.3 !! edit: i want to add to this that this is my personal interpretation of the quest and that it may or may not be the intended message, but art can be interpreted in many ways, no? its all depending on our own personal experiences. anyways, i saw another interpretation that resonated with me and i thought id share it here as well: penacony is not abt trapping everybody in the dream and giving them perpetual happiness, its about realizing a dream or a future even if you personally wont be able to see it through. "why does life slumber?" because we need to rest to wake up the next day to see our dreams come to fruition. or maybe we need multiple rests. or sometimes a lifetime. but what matters is that we (or somebody else) will wake up someday to a future that we used to only dream of. the answer "someday, we will wake up from our dreams" is very simple because sometimes the answer doesnt have to be complex. it could be staring us in the face and we just choose not to acknowledge it. escape, if you will.

i could go on for hours dissecting each character bc i loved the multiple povs and how theyve added to the characters' depths and complexities, but id be sitting here for hours essentially, sunday is the caged bird, ready to sacrifice himself to eternal solitude for the peoples security and happiness, and robin is the free bird, the embodiment of harmony, of freedom and empathy. in the end, she still wants the best for sunday, bc thats just how she is. despite the gunshot, she continues to defend the weak.

YES its wonderful how robin turned out to be the “strong” between the two after all of sunday’s discussion about him being the lone star to guide the weak… despite everything she perseveres and inspires others to do the same, while sunday is so broken by all his trauma left unchecked he cages himself and everyone else at the cost of everyone’s sanity and life because to him it’s the only way to be safe and in control, and he’s too pessimistic to think people have a chance on their own… robin is freedom and perseverance while sunday is escapism and stagnation, a really cool contrast between them. in hindsight robin’s dialogue to the kids in her trailer is a really good sumup of her mindset (“can i achieve my dream?” “yes! but start now!” = you need to live your life and work towards it). she inspires them, but ultimately they will have to face any hardships head ​​⁠​​⁠​​⁠​⁠​on and make their choices no matter how hard, because the option of sunday’s beautiful prison is still a prison in the end. she tries to understand him (ie the children in dreamflux reef), but ultimately she knows it’s a messed up plan and forever locking someone in a dream against their will is not really living even if in a beautiful hedonistic world like penacony. call me biased because he’s my favorite but i also really like how sunday was characterized with all his pain being laid out to us, from losing eveything, to the family’s grooming and even his confessional duty by which everyone relied on him, the religious influence on him and his plan.. man. even back then he did the opposite of what robin does and simply pulled the strings for the people that sought his help instead of inspiring them to do their best to face their hardships. couple that with how revered he was, and it’s pretty clear how his savior complex worsened. i really like the theory that he is implied to have ocd or some other type of compulsive disorder instead of just being a “control freak” (the flavor text of his round table says he “suffers from compulsions”) because it’s such a sad and realistic way to react to trauma, especially something like robin being shot in the neck.. he does tell us it haunts him, always asking himself how different things could’ve gone if he’d kept her caged, i’d say almost obsessively.. maybe i’m just projecting because similarly to him i developed ocd and ptsd after a traumatic experience, but still i think i see what they were trying to do. i can definitely see him struggling with intrusive thoughts about robin’s fate, but so far that’s headcanon. i froze when i had to choose for her. sunday has been on a downward spiral all his life and it all really shows through in his dialogue when he tunes with us, all pure projection where despite being told how wrong ena’s dream is he twists it to his own image (“living in a dream is abandoning life”, “no, it is TRANSCENDING”). his dialogue with firefly honestly gave me chills because at that point everything was set and nothing could get through him, even though she called him out on how flawed and pessimistic he is and how he doesn’t truly believe in others (“so in your mind i must be weak?”). it’s pretty sad how robin, firefly and the crew all understand he wants the good for others but can’t make him realize his plan is insanity, even when the proof that he is wrong is right in front of him because they and the current and past nameless can persevere and live on despite all the hardships instead of locking themselves in his gilded cage. that said i really love his relationship with robin, despite him losing his mind and initiating the dream against robin’s wishes she still loves him, thanks to her strong will she is the first to wake up and she snaps him out of his spiraling - even after it all she’s still concerned for him and how lonely he must have been feeling all this time. they have a really beautiful dynamic and i hope we can find him in the next patch(es) and maybe even help him step towards a better state of mind now that he saw “the strong defending the weak” firsthand. how ironic that in the end the self declared savior ended up being the weak defended by the strong. id be here for hours if i could say everything i loved about this update and sunday….

Since we know Akivili just kinda absent but not confirmed dead, I thought they would spill the whole lore at the moment he's back. misha was mikhail's creations, he can be considered like the "death" meme, to do task that given by owner, misha was created by mikhail to lead the future trailblazer to clock boy or the Harmony power that we going to have.Because mikhail also do not want people to find about it, that is why only trailblazers can see him. However due to the disruption of the dreamscape, he got moved away from his original location, which is where we first encounter "death", and became like a broken robot who forgot his original task and start leading guests like a true hotel receptionist.

Having even basic knowledge of HI3rd makes the story so much more enjoyable its insane. Raiden Mei being her actual name, the reference to mei helping kiana while she was falling in both the "lament of the fallen" and "graduation trip" animated shorts, the entire story tracing the exact same path as project stigma in the finality arc.

hearing the music start in the real boss fight actually got me so bad. i love music so much and robin touched my heart with hers the line from himeko "witness the will of the weak!" goes so hard too i was using an emotional support team instead of an actual team so it took a lot of turns for me to beat the boss but it was totally worth it to hear everyone's lines when using the support skill
