@@oldpossum I caught that in another version too. He played the chords by doing a pull-off with his left hand 🫲 on the top of the second verse. I had to rewind it like 5 times and send it to all my friends. I’ve been watching guitarists for 45 years (I’m one) and I’d never seen anyone do that move EXCEPT KEITH RICHARDS. Thx for posting these videos matt Lee. They are totally amazing. As a guitarist, it has been the greatest thing for me to watch these front row/high def videos. I can finally see what Keith and Ronnie are doing on their guitars/fretboards. I’ve learned so much about Keith’s open G tuning (Honky Tonk Women) and Ronnie’s slide playing. Amazingly helpful. You the man! Has anyone else noticed that the loudest applause of the night is usually reserved for Keith Richard’s guitar solo on “honky tonk women”? It never fails to amaze me. Thunderous.

Yes but anyone can if they are tuning their guitar to open G Keith has mastered that though What i fibd hard to understand is why or how did Ronnie Wood manage to become a rolling stone he hardly seems go play much at all I mudt say i have been a stones fan though since my early teens and first time i actually saw them was at The New Musical Express pop awards in 1967 when tgey were surprise band that came on and stole the whole awards show I think since tgat i have seen them about 7 or 8 times and last time was in i think 2005 at Twickenham and evety time tgey jyst seemed to get better and bettef I hope they are still all together for many more years as i love the way they sound and Mick is really fit for his age Shame about Charlie not making this current tour but nobody lives forever do they and he was a lot luckier than some who passed away far to soon I will end saying i just wish i could play in open G like Keith does 😁

Hey Matt even though all the guitar action is in Pit 1 and has been for years I still choose pit 2. This after sitting on Ronnie’s side at Fenway during ABB and being constantly distracted from that boom camera. I said never again. Those of course were seats but every bit as close as the railing area in the pit. But now I que so damn early for from corner 5’ back on catwalk I probably should give it another chance but Atlanta is Pit 2 and Hard Rock is balcony 305. So I am definitely giving it a shot next time and I’m betting there will be a next time for us all.

One of the greatest rock & roll songs of all time. Clearly, in the creation of this song, Keith Richards played the major role by inventing that Open-G guitar part. In this video, he is delightfully animated and totally likable at the end of his guitar-break.
