For those wondering, this game DOES also have a randomizer, Permadeath (for the Cassette), and Permadeath (Hardcore) modes (all toggleable). They require NG+ but theres a code that lets you access it from the start if you want. That being said I recommend playing through the game normally first, its a fantastic first experience that you won't get back if you miss it.

Just beat the final boss yesterday! I probably won't play much into the post game content because I have a huge backlog with persona 5, octopath traveller 2 and now baldurs gate 3. But HOLY HELL this was a good game. I hit almost everything I was missing in pokemon which has been stale for a long time imo. The type advantage system is A+++ and the SOUND TRACK FOR THE FINAL BOSS 🤤

I had problems with tem-tem and coromon, they felt too much like "pokemon clones". But with cassette beasts its identiy was unique enough to where i didnt feel like I was playing a "pokemon-like" it felt like I was playing a monster collector rpg like pokemon or digimon but not a direct clone. Helps that the music is a huge bop too

Pokemon is single handedly one of the biggest comforts in my life. I grew up loving the games and they are by far my favorite set of games ever, but as of recently ive been Heavly burnt out of them and its caused a huge wave of depression for me. Having no energy for the series whether its a main line game or a rom hack made me loose interest in playing games entierly and a lot of my free time was spent doing nothing. Recently though your content helped me reignite that joy even if its just a little right now from your radical red series and your cassette beasts streams ive not only had a new found energy for my favorite series you've also helped me finally branch out to other Monster Catchers. Ive had similar mindset to you when it came to fakemon and other creature catchers and your streams truly helped me find so much more joy in this amazing genre. Thank you so much for your content keep up the amazing work.

I decided to get this game after watching this video, and holy hell this game is GREAT My personal favorite thing, is one of the shops was selling a "Roll Again" with +7% per empty slot effect chance, =8% effect chance, AND APPLY TO ALL ALLIES. This resulted in me discovering that, yes. It does stack. Glastain is one of my absolute faves due to it's amazing speed, and Kuneko, well. I mean c'mon, Kuneko is great

Since their's 128 monsters now, imagine if a second version came out? The thing with indie games from what people have been saying, is that they have more content that Triple A games and seem to be doing better. For example, Pokemon, most of us grew up with it and over time it has fallen off ... especially after not expanding on those Mega Stones. People make fanart of Mega Evolutions that look great. The franchise could have expanded more but it didn't. Cassette Beasts is fresh and fun idea when it comes to monster capturing games and all I see is overwhelmingly possible things about it. As a Intermediate gamer, I highly recommend anyone to try out this game as much as anyone else.

I was about to buy this game but the aesthetics of the overworld didn't appeal to me. But after seeing this video I changed my mind. Another monster taming game I'd recommend is "Monster Sanctuary", really fun game and the team building in it is one of the best I've seen.

I'm so glad more and more monster taming games are getting recognised. My first non-Pokémon, monster taming game was Dragon Quest Monsters Joker. A game I still have and play to this day. Games like Temtem, Cassette Beasts, Coromon, etc, need just as much love and attention as Pokémon does because while others may see them as "Pokémon rip-offs", I see them as something new and different in the now growing world of Monster Tamers.

Played Cassette Beasts day 1 and wasn't disappointed. THIS is exactly what I needed,more monster-taming games that break away from the pokémon formula. The art is amazing,the monster designs fun,the open world traversal is cool and the sticker skill system is one of the most unique things I've ever seen. BEST monster-tamer I've played in a while. I RARELY double dip but b the time the Switch version came out I was already done on PC,so when the multiplayer update and the DLC arrive I will start a new playthrough with a different starter for sure! MORE EYES NEED TO BE ON THIS!

Bought this game because of this video, and I can't put it down. Thank you mate! I think the 14 different "shiny" variants with a different movesets is my favourite part. Loved tuning in on the streams despite me not being a guy who likes to watch stuff live. They've convinced me to play the game myself and I ended up 100%ing the bestiary which is rare for me. Nice to see you're really getting into other games in the monster-taming genre btw. Have you considered playing Dragon Quest Monsters? Some of the most consistently solid games in the genre. There's a new game coming out in December, but the ones on GBC and DS are also really good games (Monsters Joker 2 is a particular favorite of mine).

There's a good defining line between "Fakemon" and other monster catching games doing there own thing nowadays. Mostly it comes down to quality of the designs and intent, but It'd be great if people didn't think EVERYTHING was a pokemon knockoff, but that's neither here nor there. It's great to see more games inspired by pokemon like Cassette Beasts, Beastieball, and TemTem. Kinda like how there are more monster collectors aside from Pokemon; (Digimon, Yokai Watch, SMT) as you said its a genre, so there's always room for more, as long as they aren't just requrgitating what we've already seen.

I was browsing through KZbin one day and saw one of the videos from GymLeaderEd's playtrough of the game (it was not long after the game came out, as I learned later, literally a week or two). I looked at the title and the thumbnail and thought "alright, another Pokemon clone... might as well give the video a watch since I have nothing better to do...". Great decision on my side, I nearly instantly fell in love with the artstyle and the music, and when I later learned how much this game differs from Pokemon mechanically... it just made it better. I got myself the game literally the next day and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest, it blew my expectations away and now, almoest four months after I bought (and finished) the game, I still have an extremely positive opinion about the game and absolutely can't wait for the upcoming DLC. This game is a criminally underrated masterpiece.

Out of all monster catching RPGs, Cassette Beasts is absolutely my favourite. The battle system is more in-depths than Pokémon, yet not so overly complex that you need a wiki on the side. The amount of customization you can do with your teams thanks to stickers, bootlegs and fusions is second to none. The story is one of the better ones in monster catching RPGs so far, and the music is probably the best. I beat it all the way back in May and I'm still listening to its tracks now in August. Though it has stiff competition between all the other great games that came out this year, I think Cassette Beasts is definitely a candidate for GOTY 2023.

I feel like calling Cassette Beasts a pokemon-like is pretty reductive. The game very much has its own style, charm, and uniqueness to the point where despite its similarities, it doesn't feel at all like pokemon imo

making the shinies have actual advantages over their normal counterparts definitely incentives hunting them for me personally, as a shiny hunter i rarely care about other game’s “shinies” since they’re not real… idk something about shiny pokemon feels so tangible unlike other rare forms in different games
@Kurosakidog Жыл бұрын
I think it’s the establishment of the franchise and the community achievement you can give with shinies in Pokémon that make them desirable, cause a shiny mon from a random Pokémon like isn’t rewarding enough so yeah the whole shinies are different types with better moves makes them desirable in this game unlike others

This and Monster Sanctuary are (imo of course) the best creature collector games on the market atm. I just love being rewarded with new abilities for catching different kinds and the bootleg mechanic in this one specifically makes for some really interesting possibilities when it comes to monsters and movesets. Speaking of which, the devs weren't afraid to allow some absolutely broken movesets. Just the fact that +1 slot can roll on pretty much every sticker shows they don't care if someone just wants to grind for more and more power. Which is how singleplayer games should be balanced if you ask me. If someone wants to put in the time to become a God, why not let them? Just for reference, took me like 25 hours to beat the game while also exploring and collecting stuff and now I'm at 53 hours, not done with the postgame questline yet and still grinding out mechanics to collect cool new stickers and bootlegs.
