Bob Hoskins absolutely nails it and Spielberg's spinning camera adds the perfect amount of humorous tension to this memorable scene. What I find most weird is that if you really think about it this would be the ultimate f-u to any person you didn't like; make that person's children (the only people they care about more than themselves) and make them love you more than their actual parent. And while you can make the argument that killing their kids would be worse, seeing their kid not love/respect their parent and instead willing to fight for/love you more is even more depressing for the person you hate.
