Amazing fish. I hooked up on a close to 200 pound tarpon fishing that wooden pier in Jensen using bunker there is some massive fist in that area this time of year

Without a doubt a bummer to see you loose it , but I have to say you handled it extremely well! No beeps required in the video :D I lost something big in the surf I was fighting for ~15 mins and I have to say I was not as calm as that ! One of your best video's I have ever watched. The Florida Key's and the tarpon fish has a historic history. You should be proud that you now share history with Ernest Hemingway. The tarpon jumped 10 times out of water- shaking his head with mouth open to get the hook out. 1928-Key West,FL.

Great video and hook up. Might I suggest you look into the down and dirty method of tarpon fishing. It’s how we land really big tarpon on fly. They pull left, you pull right across their back and vice versa. It’s all about leverage and turning the fish towards you head first. You can potentially cut down the fight time tremendously with this technique which is better for you and the fish

That was cool! I have been on 2 trips where someone hooked and landed a big Tarpon. Yeah 30 mins is just the start.This reminds me why I target juvenile Tarpon! Loved the video and Aaron impressed me. That guy knows stuff. He would already start doing what needs doing before you asked him to do anything. That guy has got skills that I do not have. No shame in losing a big tarpon, they are notoriously hard to land. At least you got a great fight, and got a good look at it many times. Not just another fishing tale, video to prove it. Wow! So reminiscent of an experience I had nearly 20 years ago off Key West with a Silver King! Last cast of the day I hooked into a giant, at least 70lb. After fighting the fish for over an hour we got it to the boat, head out of the water, and "snap" the shaft of the hook snapped. Just as well because I was really done by then and the fish was also exhausted, wouldn't have been good for either of us to get it out of the water onto the boat for release. What a great and memorable experience I had with my son that day! It was a magnificent fish, and yes, I had the bruises from the rod butt for a few weeks as trophies of that magnificent catch! 😁

Okay, I just thought I would tell you that I was very proud that you put that out even though you were bummed out. I'm bummed out pretty much on a regular basis when it comes to fishing, but every once in a while I get lucky, or God seems to pull me through. If you ever get a chance to look at it, check out the KZbinr known as Bama Beach Bum. He had a video out there this week that was pretty surprising from what he put out that I was used to seeing him do. But I was extremely proud of him as well for lack of better words. @@FishAholicTV After giving some careful thought about replying it to this comment to mine, I thought maybe I should just clarify why I want you to check out that channel with his latest video. I'm not trying to throw anything in your face, but it had a little bit to do with his success and his spiritual life, I thought it was a great testimony for anyone to hear. He had over a thousand comments and I would say just from scrolling through most of them, that they were all positive. There were a few that sounded negative (but I think it was mostly because some people just don't understand, they weren't mean). I'm a believer myself and I struggle with my faith all the time, but that's how it goes pretty much in life, with everything! The more you put into something with great effort, the better the results. Just wanted to put that information out to you because I know you answer me most of the time I comment on your videos and I appreciate that. Can't wait to see another video soon, in fact I'm dying to see some videos that I subscribed to, but no one has anything new out! What gives? (I have stated in the past that I live up near Jacksonville / St Augustine, I don't know what's going on with the weather right now but it is extremely overcast. I wanted to wake up early to go fishing this morning at 4:00, but I was so tired from the day before, that I just kept hitting snooze. I know that if I don't get out there by at least 6:00, I don't get anything during these hot times) I missed the live broadcast the other day on Mr Poseidon, I was trying to watch that but it's making me wait for the video to start. Thanks! Aaron was saying in the 100 to 150lb class. The GoPro lens is a fish eye lens so it makes thinks look smaller watching it from a video. But definitely the biggest I’ve hooked in the dat time. I’ve hooked some monsters in the Keys but couldn’t stop them before the bridge.

Is it true that it's actually hotter up in the Northeast than it is here? I live in St Johns county but very close to Jacksonville. Don't ask me why I'm asking a question now, I just started the video, but I wish KZbin had a way of letting you write a comment, stopping to think about saying something else, and then coming back to it and finishing it later. Hooked 9 off the pier this year only laid up 2 of them, it happens brother. The gill plates on them are razors, he just clipped the braid you still got the eat and jacked him up! Plenty more where that came from my dude ! Tightest of lines

Yeah I bet u had him hooked underneath..thats a tough one..I caught a 50lb cobia like that on 20lb test and it took 40 minutes to get him in..good video !
