already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). kzbin.infoUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.

Best way to handle pike is to pinch their head at the gill plates to keep their gills closed. For some reason while you're doing it they just won't move. They are totally fine at the release. The pinch works like a pike on/off button.

I just left the ER. On my second cast I caught about a 2 pound largemouth. While removing the lure, the fish jumped and middle treble hook set firmly in my middle finger. At that point we were both hooked. I had to cut the line, put my foot on its tail and turn one of us loose. I walked into the ER and explained that I caught a 2lb large mouth and a 200lb loud mouth. Now I have to replace the treble hook on my Top water Rapala.

funny story, (I have a witness) I was throwing zara spook at remell dam on ouachita river in Arkansas. they were generating so there was big current. the striped bass were going crazy. I backlashed my level wind and threw spook all way across dam, which is six locks and generation station outflow. broken hearted, I tied on a big spoon. After thirty minutes and only two more fish, I made last cast. I noticed a lot of drag reeling in. to my amazement and dis believe. I caught my spook that I'd lost earlier. believe it or not. Only guess was it was caught in eddy at edge of current. still in my tackle box to this day. my friend, who was with me that day, told me to never throw it again.
