I've been crocheting for over 48 years, and have crocheted this stitch pattern many times, but I learned it under a different name (probably something I was told by whomever taught me the stitch, not necessarily a real name), so I'm glad to finally have a name for it! Thank you for the clear, easy to understand instructions. It's been a few years since I've worked this pattern, even though I really like the cushy, thick fabric that results. I look forward to starting a new project with this stitch.

@@HookedbyRobin The way you hold your yarn & hook are the Traditional Irish way of crocheting. I'm self-taught (many, many, many years ago) from multiple reference books brought over from the 'Old Country' (Ireland). That's how it was shown in those images. Like you, I rarely see any others using the technique I use for holding the yarn & hook. I find it to be a very fast way to crochet intricate fibers & stitches. It aids immensely with maintaining even & steady tension on the work piece. This, of course, results in a beautiful project. Many ask me what type of "machine" I use to create my projects => I hold up my 10 fingers, wiggle them, & smile! 😊 🦉

Thank you for this repetitive sort of stitch that is interesting and really beautiful.. I also like it for it's "warm" texture- not bulky or too overly heavy. . Excellent demo. Repeated steps several times, close up views, larger hook size, bright yarn color, suggestions such as stretching post stitches and uncovering the last post on the row-all of these go together to take the possible mystique out of what is really a very simple stitch. Front post is quite simple, but at first the back post just seemed awkward when I first learned it. I know it may sound strange, but now I find that even if I haven’t done it for a while, after just a few slow attempts somehow my hands just know what to do. I am a new subscriber, and I am excited about going through your videos and either learning new techniques or revisiting some old friends.

I did a basket weave stitch for my last one and liked how tight it was and using front and back posts...made for a durable, substantial feeling blanket that my son loves to this day. Nice texture! Definitely one I will try to find a use for - but because it's so chunky I think that will be easy. Scarves, pot holders and so on... (And a simple but well-made, pleasant and informative video! Job well done...)

I love this! I have a few projects that I want to finish before I start something new but I will definitely be thinking of what I will make with this stitch as I work on them!
