I have yet to successfully make a wearable that fits. With four kids, my uninterrupted time is limited. So, two years ago I played around with making drawstring bags. I've come up with my own ways of knitting up drawstring bags in all sizes. Now, I knit up drawstring bags like some people knit socks (all the time). They make great gift bags. I've also made earbud case size drawstring bags.

I made a super long tube scarf for my youngest. He loves it! He plays with that scarf all the time. Kids are so fun. I'm almost done with a small drawstring bag in a gray cotton yarn with neon flecks!

The crossbody bag and make up bag are so calling me - they are so cute & functional! Both the sweaters are amazing & yes the buttons make them look more finished. I am not surprised that you did not see the buttons on the Joann website but then saw them in the store - the website isn't that great - in my experience. I have done liners and zippers in crochet projects - it is not very hard, just takes a little time, especially the first time. The just feel better shawl is calling me too! The socks are adorable. Absolutely love the crochet memories join as you go blanket - it is stunning and of course I think I need dive in - what a great scrap project.

Awww, im so glad that Nova uses that little purse ^.^ Wooo hooo! I'm excited for this Lisa Frank kal! Visions of Trapper Keepers and fuzzy posters immediately began dancing in my head lol! I think I will make a granny square bandana (because the universe KEEPS throwing them in my face recently). Maybe neon squares joined with black as a throwback to the fuzzy posters 🤔

I do love all of the bag patterns you talked about. I think I'd be most interested in the crochet fanny pack...however the final assembly/finishing would probably keep me from doing something like that, lol. If Nova is nudging you to finish that floor puff, can you send her over to me when you are done so she can help motivate me to finish some of my WIPS!?!🤣 The Lisa Frank MAL couldn't come at a better time. I have something in mind to start new. And I have a solid granny square wrap that I still haven't finished (you may remember seeing it on a past Zoom get-together), so this is the kick in the pants I need to work on it!!! So glad you are back in action and you are feeling creative and inspired while also having the time to do it. Sometimes we go through seasons of not making and that's OK! But when the crochet mojo is back, it feels great and it always comes back when we are ready.

Lisa Frank make along!! So excited 🎉 I love that Nova is loving the items you make for her, that’s so fun. I actually use Knit Pro hooks once I get to the 6.5 mm because they are metal. The plastic on the clover drags and I feel like I am fighting it. Good to know that Tulip keeps it metal too. The Knit Pro is a flat rubber handle. It’s different. The poof looks great!

That’s exactly what it feels like! I’m fighting it. For some reason the larger 9 mm hook doesn’t bother me in plastic 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I’m glad to know about the knit pro hooks!

I have a blanket made out of bright neon yarn. It is a wip which I need to finish. I think that will qualify. My daughter had a sticker book with lots of Lisa Frank stickers.

Love the pink neon sweater on you! Absolutely your color. So fun that Nova is interested in some fiber makes! Make a crochet or knit i-cord for her to play with. Those are so sturdy. I am making shorty summer socks out of cotton/wool premiere cotton collage. Universal has the same yarn but calls it filly. The cotton makes it cooler for summer. I also wear them to sleep in. I have a kitty bed i am making out of gifted bright acrylic, but have not made myself finish. Maybe your CAL could onspire me.❤

I love the pink cardigan. I wish I knew how to knit. It is on my list to learn this year. I made the granny square fanny pack and I’m working on lining and zipper for it right now it is a gift for my son that requested I make him one. Love your Just Feel shawl it’s gorgeous! You can totally learn to knit!! Try with big yarn and big needles first so you can see what you’re doing. And remember - it’s just yarn. You’ve got this!

Hi Hannah - The pink sweater is completely beautiful and never have I seen such a great use of such a pink. I love it. Re buttons, as a costume designer I often put a back button to make things very strong... I was able to attach wire flowers to messy fabric in this way. For the grandpa sweater... you might want them. (It's only 3 buttons.) Hugs honey, hi to the family. Enjoy. (Who is Lisa Frank?) Also, I am also making that "memories" blanket but it's no memories, just had and bought a whole bunch of minis and started because I love to make it. Of late I am painting and making paper (junk journals) so no yarn of late but you give me the urge... ! Ha!

I had no idea who or what Lisa Frank was, I had to Google it 😅 but I am in the UK 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think my current Tolsta tee would count, it's a Scheepjes Whirl that goes from bright orange, through yellow, green and blue. I know what you mean about kids once they know you're going to make them something. My son saw Ali (Little Drops of Wonderful) had made a bunch of crochet chickens and begged me for one, so we went together to the yarn store, picked yarn and he bugged me every day until I made them 🤦🏻‍♀️ but he loves his Popcorn (chicken) and (chicken) Bucket, my husband named them 😂

Your tolsta tee would totally count! I think Lisa Frank was an American phenomenon, but every preteen girl in the early 2000s was absolutely obsessed with her 😂 That is SO cute that your son wanted you to make him chickens!

I signed up for the monthly box for a few months, but was not a fan of the needles either & I found the booklets a bit confusing by some of the images. The yarn was lovely tho!! Maybe if they offered a QR code for a video demonstrating the way they describe certain stitches or steps to complete parts of the pattern, that might help (especially for those who are more visual learners). Nova's cardi is adorable!!

I would have never thought to make a shawl in that thick acrylic yarn. My first thought was bag. I haven’t ever felt it though so maybe it is really soft and that is why you immediately went to shawl. I’m curious as to what your first thought was when you thought… “I must make something!”

I’m not sure it would make a very sturdy bag because it’s a single ply yarn - it would pill a lot! I just wanted to make a neon shawl 😂

You can do it! It’s just yarn and you can always rip it out and try again. Also you could try a DK weight sock so that it’s fewer stitches and easier to see what you’re doing on the heel. I have crocheted socks but they’re just not for me. I don’t like how they feel on my feet, so knit socks it is for me!

I'm one of the unfortunate people that had migraines with Ravelry. Does anyone know if it's still an issue? Did they fix things on there? I do have a load of patterns on there and occasionally I will go on to download a pattern if I need it but I'm literally on for maybe 30 seconds and back off. Too scared to spend anymore time on there. However I love neon so hello CAL! I might just refrain from Ravelry and tag you on Instagram if that's ok. I had recently taken out a neon cotton cake from my stash and was just deciding on a pattern, one of them is your Key Largo wrap. Got a hat I want to finish first.
