VT(97-2000), VX(2000-02), VY(02-04) and VZ(04-08) all have the same chassis just different year and interior/exterior. They all came in ute, sedan, wagon with either a v6 or v8. There also Holden Special Vehicle(HSV) version of each. That's pretty much the basic overview of the VT-VZ commodore.

Kinda is TBH. Australian 'made' Fords are a different story to some extent, but the only real thing that's Australian about the later Commodores is the name and chassis to a degree (even then, many exist overseas).

Moises Mora Maaaate the firewall on the Commodore/Monaro/Ute models have been glued in since day 1 when Holden first introduced them to Australia in '78 mainly because the Holden Commodore started off as a LHD Opel Rekord E... and the VT-VZ Holden Commodore/Monaro/Ute is the last model that was based on the full sized rwd Opel range.

It is a monaro. The gto was build in the Australian factory and shipped to America. Holden also built left hand drive Statesman's and shipped them to Dubia as cop cars

yo HOONIGAN Australian viewer Scott here. Best option for the GTO is what we call a barra, 4.0 inline six turbo from FORD. it is the arch rival motor to the LS HOLDEN so a great odd ball and they make 800hp with just valve springs. for your ute you should keep the bogan roll bar, change the steering wheel logo to Holden one and bonnet is fine either way. it is almost standard to see this ute filled with dirt bikes in Australia and also the missing gas cap is a standard look too as they just fall off. cheers cunts

I would expect there to be a lot of off the shelf parts for the LHD swap, as the Holden Commadore was sold LHD branded as Buicks and Pontias, sharing GMs' V6 3.0, 3.6, 3.8L, V8 5.0, 5.7, 6.0, 6.2 and 7.0L. Supercharged versions of both V6 and V8s. Thank you.

The Pontiac 'GTO' is actually a Holden Monaro that were both made in Australia, to send the Monaro to America, Holden made it a Pontiac to sell to the us market like the G8 which is also a Holden made in the same factory. The ute and GTO have a lot in common such as the chassis and interior pieces. 90% of the use for the ute is for work tools for tradesman and on the weekends are used to put dirt bikes in the tray of the ute... BTW bogan comment is correct
