Utter nonsense. Australians love to make themselves seem more important than they actually are shits wild. Nothing Australia has done with the GTR comes even close to what Mines has done since the 90s. (75kgs) that cracks at 1100hp+ In fact everything is made in Australia, the Japanese come to Oz for gearboxes and ECUs and billet blocks etc them and Europeans love the Holingers. Look at Garage Active Sakamotos san when he came to Australia GTR festival a few months back. He was blown away how far the Aussie RB scene is comapred to the rest of the world. We have the fastest GTRs in the world 6.37s faster than AMS and we have the fastest circuit GTRs by a country mile. PRP are even casting an RB26 head which they claim will flow double the stock head, which arrives soon. They are also casting a new block with 8mm bore spacing not the 2mm oem cyclinder spacing that cracks like a MF Billet 4wd sump and transfer cases and front diffs, billet rear 9inch diff from Brad at Racetech in conjunction with Holinger /watch?v=a-eYQlkMXrc I will concieve this - the yanks know the 2JZs and K20s better than us but the AUssies are the king of Nissans

hmm fascinating conversion .. makes me wonder about other possible options, toyota hz, benz om606, whatever the bmw is b58 i think .. all the fan-boys will cry, but an e85 6.7 cummins sounds just about right. I guess you'd have to install sparkplug ports and maybe de-stroke to loose some compression, but the sled-pulling guys run those setups at and above 150 psi through ridiculous compound turbo setups all day. Excellent food for thought
@jakerubino3233 Жыл бұрын
I don’t think you quite understand this build. The block is from a diesel engine which mates to a petrol RB top end. They are both RB series engines used in different applications. It runs petrol. The spark is all done in the head (top end) so nothing needs to be changed other than the fuel for the diesel block in all intents and purposes. The benefit is in the stronger design of the diesel and larger capacity.
@carlswenson5403 Жыл бұрын
@@jakerubino3233 I was a heavy equipment and diesel mechanic at a mine and previous to that I was a furniture moover and truck driver for 15 years. The diesel is in my blood my man. I guess the one thing I didn't get from the video is that there's a compatible gasoline head for the Nissan r series (which certainly simplifies things. in the mining world I've seen a few smaller engines converted from diesel or kerosene to gas, but I had never thought about anything bigger. Another question I had that the video didn't seem to answer was how they builder dealt with the compression issues, most diesels that I know run at more than 20:1. What I assume is that they've swapped to a de-stroked crank as well ... either way, very cool build
