I’m a plumber and originally a Honda nerd since i was a kid. One day i was working in a customers house and asked him if the interior panels sitting on the floor in the basement were from a 90-93 integra. He was shocked i knew what they were. He proceeded to tell me about his two sons who built a DA integra endurance car. Then said “if you think that’s cool you should see what i have in the garage. The door opens and my jaw dropped. There sat a Honda s600 and a Toyota s800. And also a Vespa car. He told me i could drive it when it was done but i lost touch and can’t remember what house he lived in. You never know what’s sitting behind someone’s house.

It had 70hp so it can't be that slow. It was also famous for revving all the way to 10k rpm, reliably. It has roller bearings in the engine so you won't kill your engine quite as fast with no oil pressure, just like a motorbike.... Honda are masters of engines, this is what they did 55 years ago.....

Very cool car and story, never heard of that Honda. I wanted to make note that casually in the background of the video I noticed a plate with NSX R on it at 2:50, you just never know what you will see in the Asian vlogs, and it is so cool. Great vlogs this trip for sure Larry, ty.

Fun thing about Germany and the Honda S is the myth of the broken engine dyno. It says a university revved one of these to 13.000rpm until it exploded - the dyno, not the engine :-D My father used to be a car mechanic here in Germany in the late 60s, mostly NSU. But of all cars in the world one of their customers had a Honda S500/600/800 and my dad vividly remembers adjusting the valves with shims.

To go full nerd, and bring in both a German and New Zealand connections seeing the owner is a ex-Kiwi. F1 / sports car champion driver - Denny Hulme drove a s600/s800 to class victory at 1964 Nurburgring 500 race, the equivalent of todays 24hour.. Likely why the S series were popular both in NZ and in Germany. Was also Honda's first ever win in motorsports and the inspiration / validation to go on and build world beating F1 powerplants.

@@andrewbryant8814 Hi Andrew, as a suffering car tragic, I have found most "car guys", even the guy above you mention are mostly only interested in one brand, one country or one type of car, ie RWD American only etc.. Nothing wrong with that, some people only like one type of music... problem is they never wear headphones.
