4 cyl E36s handle noticeably better than 6 cyl ones, no one really knows that because stock BMW E36 4 bangers are too slow to become a viable pick when it comes to building a track day car, but there are some racing series in Europe with displacement/power restrictions that make the BMW 1.8 E36 work well and a lot of people that have driven 4 pot E36 say that they indeed handle noticeably better. I'm happy they have picked the SR20.
