And Fox is one of our top defenders as well though it will be nice he won’t always have to be on the best guy to conserve legs for scoring at times lol. Fox, DC, Keon who measured just about 6’5 at combine and has the wingspan I know he isn’t strong yet but he can play SF in spot mins, Keegan, and whoever at center (Len our best defender) now that is indeed a freaking beastly defensive lineup depending on matchup
@BucsDucs995 ай бұрын
It'll sound crazy because I feel like once he hit the NBA he went in a far different direction than most expected, but Carter reminds me a lot of Donovan Mitchell coming out of Louisville. Mitchell's offensive projection was pretty iffy back then, but he was a short SG with a combination of physical strength, crazy wingspan, and defensive playmaking skills that showed just enough offense to make you think there could be something more there.

@JunDTRA5 ай бұрын
His timing is extremely high-level, allowing him to anticipate and react to plays with ease. He's incredibly flexible on the court, making him a threat from anywhere. As a defender, he's sticky like glue, able to stay attached to his opponents and limit their scoring opportunities. I think he would be a great fit for the Spurs at the 8th pick in the draft.

Great player, almost no flaws and great mentality. I think, his age and "role player aura" is the only reasons he is valued at the end of the lottery. He is probably the best guard defender of the class, great athlete, rebounder, he is already 38% shooter on almost 7 attempts/game and has experience being a primary score on an underwhelming team. Everybody sees Reed Shepherd, Rob Dillingham and Isaiah Collier higher on boards but are you sure they will become better players? None of them will become better defenders than Devin Carter and will be targeted on that end. All of them will probably be worse finishers at the rim, worse cutters, worse rebounders. Probably better 3pt shooters, but they will all struggle with adjusting to NBA length and will probably see it difficult to find an open shot. Payton Pritchard is one of my favorite players and true PG at the college level, but he still struggles to be a starting caliber PG at NBA and has become a role player. I think Devin Carter will excel in a 3/4th star role on a team with a solid 1/2st options (probably a forward), like Boston, Houston, Lakers or Miami.

@brendancarr11865 ай бұрын
Looks like the most underrated player in the draft to me. Reminds me of Derrick white defensively, his offensive ceiling is higher to me than you’re giving it credit for. The providence team around him wasn’t very good, he’s gonna be a different player with NBA spacing. He needs to develop his left hand though! Everything is him going right, which makes me nervous / reminds me of kilian Hayes who I liked before the draft. My high end comp for him would be jalen Suggs with long arms, obviously the age difference between those two prospect at their respective drafts is a major difference though.

Fox too though, this kid is fast and explosive but Fox can teach him how to change up his pace better and play less risky for injury (offensively we know he does the dirty work though) he actually mentioned the pace thing in Antonio Ray Harvey’s short interview. Always thought Ja needed to work on that too he’s always running like year 1-2 Fox lol
@Weather_Nerd4 ай бұрын
Now let’s hope Fox and Monk help him improve that handle and passing accuracy and selection but can you imagine Fox and Monk offensive improvements after facing Carter in practice like Davion always helped with. Oh I just love this pick, I personally didn’t want a young man wing anyway rather have a well-established player at SF and PF but Knecht or whatever definitely was intriguing

@brodiestephens4195 ай бұрын
That's what I thought!! His shot doesnt look pretty, but 37% is a MASSIVE difference than the 30% shown on screen at the start. Teams drafting in the lottery need to make sure they don't over-think things with Carter. Think of all the teams that passed on Haliburton because his shot *looked* funky and they didn't think he could get it off in the NBA. Carter is a defensive menace, rebounded better than most bigs, he's highly intelligent, very self-aware, has been around the NBA his whole life, and..... his shot GOES IN. I'm a Thunder fan, but if I was a fan of pretty much ANY other team.... I'd want to draft Carter. Maybe I still want him in OKC and they can figure out guard rotations and minutes later. 😅😅
