Take a second look at the lyrics for the song Drowning. "Why is (was....) the rebel flag hanging from the state house walls..?". Pretty brash statement from a bunch of South Carolina college kids. All these years later, that whole album still holds up. Congrats guys. Enjoy every second of your tour and thanks for the great music. Huntington Beach, Ca.

I remember arriving here fresh from Costa Rica as a 16-year-old boy, back in 1998. That song, "Hold My Hand", was playing in my Uncle's radio, as he was driving us home from the Airport. I remember being really nervous and scared, as one arriving into a new country and culture knows the gut-wrenching experience well. But, somehow, hearing Rucker's voice at that moment, it gave me peace. So, I remember that this was the icebreaker question between my uncle--whom I had only met once or twice when I was 7 years old--and I. I broke the ackward silence by asking him, in that very silent car: "What is the name of that song?" . He translated into Spanish : "Hold My Hand, uhhh I think it means Toma Mi Mano". Even though I did not speak a word of English at that moment, hearing Darious' amazing, soothing voice, and knowing the name of the song he was singing; made me think at that moment: "Hold My Hand". I like the title of that song. I think It's going to be alright. I have a long way to go, but, "Hold My Hand". Now and then, and throughout the many years I have worked as an ER RN Nurse, when I am holding one of my patient's hands, that song often comes to mind. It's been a long way since that morning in my uncle's car. But, so far, it's been alright. Thank you Hootie and The Blowfish. You people Rock across boundaries, times and languages!!! Thank You!!!
