Hoover X1 Pro/Max Overview

Yoooo. It's late summer and that means a bunch of tech launches. A few days ago we saw the launch of the new Hoover Air X1 Pro and the Hoover Air X1 Pro Max on IndieGoGo. So far, the specs are rather impressive and its a very tempting option in the small selfie drone arena. But we also have the launch of the DJI Neo coming out on September 5th during the DJI event.
In this video I go over the details and specs that we know about the Hoover X1 Pro and Max. We take a look at the accessories, the campaign, and the rather impressive specs. Hint, Hint, worlds first 8K camera and up to 4k 120 fps! Yea, its pretty awesome.
But, does it make sense to run out and buy the X1 when we are right around the corner from the DJI Neo? Well, we don't have solid specs yet, but we do have some pretty reliable leaks and some snaps of the Neo in the wild. I do feel strongly that these rumors are pretty close what we are going to see during the DJI Event.

The pricing is interesting. The highly anticipated DJI Neo is significantly cheaper and that alone may bury these. That would be a shame as the Hover Pro and Max seem significantly better but if it’s price starts to align with the DJI Mini 4 then you can’t impulse buy

Totally how I feel. If you want or need high fps welp then you have to shell out top dollar for the x1. I took feel they are a bit on the expensive side. I think it will be a tougher sell to the masses at this price points. I think DJI with the NEO pricing will do really well. Sure X1 will get the video heads who care about fps but the masses I think will pick the NEO as well. Thanks for the awesome comment!

Im definitely buying the NEO. Its gonna be way cooler than everyone thinks. Dji isnt telling anyone the two secrets the Neo has!

Hilly - ok man, i never subscribe to channels but i just sub'd to yours. i'm an outfitter & just got back from Alaska so seeing you in your waders made me smile. way, way cleaner than mine tho:))), i'm pissed that Sims changed the style/material of the new G3s, old style was bomb! also, your brutal honesty about not knowing if/when you could get a Neo bc you're just getting ramped up with your channel. kinda makes me want to buy you one for testing to benefit me & your community. i'm really intrigued by the X1Pro Max because of the folding form factor. i wish i could get one now, i leave for a trip next few days and would love for it to just follow our pack string & clients through the woods. the beacon is what really has me pumped, never had a drone so that beacon sounds awesome. i think i read that the old Skdio 2 had beacons but do any other one's have that feature? it would be sweet on a horse or in a boat cuz you're basically hands free. i don't know what kind of 'shot' it's called and i know that those X1 Pro Max will do a following shot all day long but can they be out front and i guess film backwards to capture front of my string as well as do following shots? sorry for the novel man. thanks in advance -:) barbie

What up 8! That means a ton to me, thank you! Don't get me started on Simms they are in my hometown or used to be, now its someone acting like SIMMS in a rising sun outfit. LOL. It can do the out in front shots all day, its called a dolly shot. I am sure you know your horses or mules, but goes without saying......seen some that are ok with it, others that FREAK THE FuK out. I do some guiding on the side and I do videos for clients when I do, and I use it a lot, but old one, could not fly over water so no drifty footage, but now it can! I am amped. @@HillPhantom well... you got me started. 100 days a year in my 'old' G3s, it's not the fishing that's the test, it's the cutting out log jams every year, working on our boats, wheelers, argo, plane - grease, saws etc. that pair lasted me 5 years, actually still going cuz i refuse to wear my new ones that i got after a year of fkn backorder. only thing i've had to do is glue up my right sock that's started leaking. damn, they used to build some nice stuff. yeah, weren't they outa Boze or Missoula? i think they sold out a few years ago didn't they? just like Loomis, i can't even get my favorite all around King/Silvers rod in Spinning (i hate baitcasters) - it was the GL Loomis Hot Shot Rod (HSR-S). ever since they sold out to Shimano or whoever, they don't make that model anymore. sorry man, kina nice to vent to someone who gets it. yeah, i am curious to see how my ponies respond. funny thing is - our mules are bomb but some of our riders that we put 'dudes' on will be kinda interesting. so funny, i've been bitching about new drone tech, fkn cell game cams, OnX etc. cuz now any kook can show up on your ground blah blah blah... and here i am inquiring about said tech hahahaha. i found you after 5 hours of rabbithole youtube looking at the insta360x4 camera that i didn't even know existed - so now i'm thinking of getting one of those too. might as well get all the Bulls we get on video! - thanks for letting me vent man, i needed it:)

Vent away I get it, I saw the Bob Marshall parish before my eyes once with all the tourons so I know the feeling. It's one of the reasons I don't film my fishing anymore much. Yea Simms is still out of BOZOAngles but bought by some big group and now most of their stuff is made in China. I am headed deep into Yellowstone soon and I can't wait as no one really goes that far in, so, hopefully I can get far far away from "those" guys lol. Cheers.

@@HillPhantom i hear ya bud, i've never filmed any hunting, mainly cuz i don't want to give secrets away. we have done some filming in AK because our little river is hard to get to & a big commitment so we basically have it to ourselves. only licensed outfitter on the river. my nephew has a drone & we've got some killer footage of spincasting for kings and our clients casting into a shallow jam hole on a bend that we call the 'bradnak' hole (long story) anyway, when we watched the footage later we were blown away that there were over a 100 kings in that hole. that was 3 years ago - fast forward to this summer... kings closed:( which meant sockeyes (which i'm not the biggest fan of that 'game') my partner did a bunch of filming of our elk hunts in early 90s before the wolves, but it was before social media and it was crazy. before the wolves we would call in 10-12 bulls/day, let em go & call in the next one until we found something huge. by 2008 we went 1.5 years without hearing a bugle!!! it's getting better again thankfully but i don't think it'll ever get back to like it was in my lifetime. good luck in YS - hey, do you have email?

Got the skiing combo early support. I love my hover X1, I have to light up indoor shoots but it's worth it. I know the ProMax is gonna crush it! Seems like NEO is competing with the hover air x1 used market and winning with 4k resolution. *edit DJI drones I own Phantom 4 Advanced and FPV

I think you are right and that's a great take, the NEO is competing with the x1 but not the x1pro or x1proMax. The only thing holding me off is, well, we still need to see, if, their sensors are better or not in the new X1 series. If its a cheap sesnor it may not be good.....I do think it will be a better video experience for sure, but I have to be reserved until I get the MAX in my hand. But my gut is the same as yours, DJI is not going to be anywhere near the new X1 lineup. Honestly, the FPV of the neo is cool, but, no avoidance, sub par 1/2'' sensor and only shooting 30fps....yea im not holding my breath its going to hold a candle to the Pro or Max.

I do believe the 8k resolution of the new sensor will be able to resolve sunrise/sunset which is all I feel like I’m missing due to poor dynamic range on the x1. I will probably continue to light up my indoor scenes even with the promax because good lighting makes everything better! 💯☺️

I have a Mini 4 already....I just want the X1 pro max for 8k and ease of portability on trips...I am not a good pilot....😅

I bought the PROMAX the first day combo pack cant wait to get it, Flys from ur hand land in ur hand large Cmos/HDR/10 Bit 8K/4K, 1TB SD card & the whole 9 yard & kitchen sink lots to mention all that in just a little body just shoot land it in ur hand fold it & put it in ur pocket go to next shoot, thats incurable amazing ... ...f*n blow the DJI like tornado or that f*n new naked shyt NEO coming soon wanna be a copy cat, none of them DJIS simple to use & carry like HoverAir dose , all of them comes with big bulky equipment's heavy body have to carry it around in bag or in bagpack & plus u have to get register & get license, make sure blades is str8 & in right place ahh F all that B.S , 2000s is over.., just these Hover Air beacon stick worth entire DJI & this new Pro & ProMax is very well futuristic looks design & engineered🔥🔥🥂

I think you are right in regards to specs but....price......DJI will have a massive edge. I would say its all about do you need higher FPS or not. But sub 400 with a controller versus min. of 700 for a Hoover with controller is .....a MASSIVE disparity. I think ultimatly the DJI will sell more, but yes, its is seriously under OP as compared to Hoover for sure!

Do not go with the neo. It has no sd card slot, and has no obstacle avoidance, plus it doesn't even fold. X1 however, let's just say is a no brainer.

At first I thought no on the NEO because of it only being 4k30 and the 03 air units I own are 4k60 and very grainy compared to gopros. But if DJI is going to sell the Neo with a controller that you can use with your phone or has its own built in screen, that would be a no brainer deal. If not I would still do the Hover air Pro max. Why? Because if you are not in the current DJI eco system and do not own the controller 3 ($199, Goggles 3 $499, or Mic 2 up to ($249), then that entry level price won't be so entry level. So you could be looking at an additional $700 for the Goggles 3 and FPV controller. The RCN 2 around $369 + Mic 2 ($249) Around $618 more on top of the $299 and the image quality and sensor won't be close Hover Pro Max. So if you already have the aforementioned gear, then an additional $299_$350 is a no brainer for the NEO. If not, at minimal, you will need an additional $499 for the Goggles 3 which brings the price closer to the bundle costs of the the Hover Air Pro max with Beacon and controller
