I think the answer is in your post. I think it's because the kind of people that become comics are *generally* Sagittarian and Piscean in nature. So she told him nothing at all until daybreak. 37 Then in the morning, when Nabal was sober, his wife told him all these things, and his heart failed him and he became like a stone. 38 About ten days later, the Lord struck Nabal and he died. 39 When David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, “Praise be to the Lord, who has upheld my cause against Nabal for treating me with contempt. Residuals for a Comic View spot? Those spots don't lend themselves to residuals. To get residuals on TV, you would have to be a series regular. Also, Comic View wasn't the vehicle for that kind of pay like a variety or skit show like In Living Color, MADTV or SNL because there were too many revolving comics. It's purpose was to present new talent and off the strength of their appearance, they get exposure, weight is added to their name when they tour or book comedy clubs.

Def Comedy Jam was also a vehicle to showcase new talent. However, DCJ paid the comedians residuals per each rerun of the show(s) they appeared on, gave them per diem and put them up in nice hotels while they were there for filming. Hope said all of this in the interview.

Wrong !. When your image, likeness AND materials are used after the initial airing you must be paid a residuals or a buyout.

@@PrettyCoG Def Comedy Jam weren't the ones who paid them. It was HBO who owned the show. It was HBO who gave them that deal.
