I was thinking the same thing.. when it said the family was from Arizona (my state) I was so sure it was going to say they were unable to get her or didn't want her. Do glad I was wrong
@jewelsthecat53315 жыл бұрын
C emarry A microchip is a small device that vets will put into dogs and cats, so if they get lost and taken to a shelter or veterinarian clinic, it’s very easy to find the owners. And unlike a collar, which can fall off or choke the animal, the microchip is harmless and will always be inside the animal.
@jamesporter62885 жыл бұрын
@C emarry to expand on what Jewels thecat said, the chip is about the size of a grain of rice and is implanted just under the skin of the dog/cat, usually on the back between the shoulders
@kenrivers97575 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing😥😥😥😥 sad.
@neellie94748 жыл бұрын
I was already crying with the whole firefighters, and everyone thanking each other bit. But then when they scanned that chip, I was like "Oh great. Bet you anything the owners are not going to want her back and will probably surrender her to the rescue like the others in Eldad's video, especially since her leg is broken." But the moment they said *"her name is Tinkerbell"* I automatically knew I was wrong, that who ever gave her that name would be back for her. Sometimes names just carry a person's love. You can just tell that that dog was loved by her name alone. I'm so happy to see that the _entire_ family came back just to pick her up. It was a great moment. Every country should make it mandatory to chip your dogs. If Tink's family hadn't chipped her they would have never found her again.
@neellie94748 жыл бұрын
***** You can get them chipped at a shelter or a vet. As for price, I'm from Toronto and if you go to the vet, they'll chip your dog for 50 bucks. If you go to a shelter, they'll chip your dog for 15 bucks. So if price is an issue, the shelter might be a better option for you. You can go get them chipped at either of those places though.

Most breeders provide chipped pups these days, and all shelters microchip dogs and cats before they are adopted. But many people don't register the chip in their name so if they move after adopting or purchasing an animal, the shelter or breeder can't locate them - if the pet is lost and scanned for the chip. So make sure where ever you register the chip you also keep it up to date.

Not only was she microchiped but when they were called about her they came for her and you can tell just by her body language that she was overjoyed to see them all again. My hubby is a professional FireFighter and he too gets his phone out and films/videos other kinds of hero's on the job, such as ones like you! In Ohio where we live, we are now lawfully allowed to help injured animals! This went into effect in June 2016, and we have been totally stoked....so stoked that I went to our vet and asked them to donate animal oxygen mask (muzzle type) to our Fire Department, and they were elated to do so, and of course they were pumped when I informed them of our new Ohioan Law regarding FF & Paramedics/EMT's legally allowed to help our beloved animals who are injured and need medical attention ASAP! Yay!! BTW I want to order roughly 6-10 of your Lucky Leash's, and wanted to know if I ordered them today....would they be delivered in time for Christmas? Sorry for being off topic here, but I want to order them ASAP, and to send a special gift to you! A bunch of my fellow animal lovers including our FireHouse want to gather some donation money to send along with my order. I've spread the word about you to many, but I talk about you a lot to my FD family! Our Fire Department is hooked on watching all of your rescue videos now, and because of your videos and myself they have become more aware regarding animal abuse, abandonment, etc., and now call me when they suspect anything wrong relating to animals, even when they are out on runs for work! I'd love to hear back from you Eldad....You're my hero too!

Now it makes sense. Absolutely stunningly beautiful reunion & rescue. Tinker Bell loves her daddy so very much. I was glad to see a proper reunion. Take good care every day everyone. God bless 🍀 🍀 🍀

Can you just imagine what it would be like to lose your dog in another city and not be able to find them? What those three weeks without the dog must have been like and then to get that call that someone had found your pet? I had to put my last dog to sleep as he was dying of kidney failure. It was the first time I had to do it alone. Afterwards, I took him home and buried him next to my barn. Then I cried the rest of the night and no I'm not one of those overly sentimental people. It was more a case that he was the only thing I had left, and then he was gone. I can only imagine the joy of getting back a pet you think you've lost.

Honestly you don't have be a genius to figure out that July 4th (and any other time at which people are known to use fireworks) is a dangerous date in which many non-human animals get lost, injured and even die. You have to guess in advance that the dog might jump over a fence specially if it's not his/her home. Besides, in addition to using a microchip, which I am not 100% a fan of, owners MUST ensure their dogs wear a collar with an ID tag with their name and contact phone clearly stated on it. This dog might have been saved much sooner by regular folks who happen to see her had she been wearing an ID tag. This is a commentary for anyone reading. And I am very very sorry for your loss.

@@sasharules2007 I tend to not judge situations where I don't know all of the facts. You might want to try doing that. "non-human animals"? what kind of person uses that terminology. I'm pretty sure 99.99% of the people who are able to use the internet would understand if you used the term "animals" that you're not talking about humans. Sorry if I took your post wrong but it just came across as a self-righteous animal rights rant. I don't feel these people did anything intentionally harmful to their dog. Accidents happen, people make mistakes. Let's not jump all over people we don't know regarding a situation we don't know everything about. This is a nice video about a reunion between a pet and it's owners. Let's keep it that way.

@@maybrad5260 Maybe not, some people find a lost dog in bad shape and take care of it and keep it. I did this back in the... wanna say late 80's, little doggo walked up to our farmhouse, wasn't a puppy, and wasn't a dog from any of the neighbors places. So we patched him up and gave him some dinner and no-one ever came looking for him so he lived with us the rest of his life. He used to go walkabout sometimes, and weeks later he'd roll back up, all beaten up, looking really happy with himself like he'd been on huge week long stag-do bender. We'd put disinfectant on his cuts and give him his dinner and he would be home again for a few weeks. I always think: that coulda been someone's best friend, but we didn't keep him by force, he came and went as he wanted, so I dunno, I don't think I stole someone's dog, more felt like he was a hired hand, would come and do some ratting, then he'd be off looking for female friends and fighting, like all the tough guys ;)

Mastiffs are actually a very chill type of dog. You also have to keep in mind she broke her leg, been homeless for a few weeks and was in pain and probably exhausted from being under so much stress the last few weeks. Once she rest and is off pain meds and takes time to recover from her stress she will bounce back. Animals go under stress like we do and need to recover from it as well.

If only they took as good care of the dog as they did with the kids.... there's a reason why they lost the god but not the kids.

@@sasharules2007 ?? That's just weird. Personally, I thought the dog was relatively unexcited to see her family. So I wonder how much care they actually take of her. But, they did bring her to LA for a vacation to visit some family out there; And she is a very large dog to be taking on a trip like that. So one has to assume they take better care of her than your average family that owns a dog.
@sasharules20073 жыл бұрын
@@SteveKasian Like I said, there's a reason they lost the dog and not the children. I am a rescuer I see hundreds of cases of owners losing their dogs or cats because they do not ensure not to put them at risk. And if you take your dog to another city you need to be extra careful.
@SteveKasian3 жыл бұрын
@@sasharules2007 Equating children with animals is a bit unrealistic though. Children are intelligent (though some are arguably questionable in that regard!); Animals are not. One tends to keep their children within sight; Not so with animals, even when one is caring properly for them. Children don't get frightened at the loud sounds of fireworks and thunder and react by running away from their parents; They actually tend to do exactly the opposite when they are scared. Animals, on the other hand, do exactly that: They run *away* - as far away from the loud noise as they think they can get. And, because the noises are coming from "everywhere," there is literally no place they won't run (the LA River). So one can lose their pet in situations like that very easily, even if certain precautions are taken. Fact is, while most people don't even consider the fact that their animals will react that way to fireworks or thunder, that is more a reflection of their general stupidity and ignorance than it is a lack of love for their pets.
@sasharules20073 жыл бұрын
@@SteveKasian You got it all wrong, 1) humans (children grown ups etc) are animals - unless you show me some paper saying they belong to the plant or mineral kingdom; 2) non-humans animals are FAR more intelligent than some human animals; 3) children are FAR more intelligent than adults, only they lack experience and their SNC is not fully developed at birth; 4) dogs cats and other animales get hurt, lost or end up date due to human negligence, there is no love where there is negligence or stupidity, no PhD is required to keep a child or dog/cat safe, just responsibility, attention and common sense (you don't even need much love!).
