i've always had Ford F250s for work, but bought a Silverado 1500 crew cab in 2014 and have loved it. The low front bumper may be a problem for you ,but as I understand it, it's supposed to help with gas mileage.

That's a huge technology jump. You'd say the same thing if you bought a 6.7 Powerstroke. I've had every iteration of Powerstroke in work trucks and the 6.7 is miles ahead of the rest.

Al Cala I did have a 14 f350 dually with the 6.7 it was a company truck but it was always in and out of the shop. When the company finally went ram it did influence my decision. I’m not bashing any brand but for some reason every Ford I had gave me major problems. Except my 6.0 surprisingly, but like you said each one has pros and cons.

Happy for you Rob. The 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LTZ Z71 Midnight Edition with the L5P Diesel and Allison Transmission is a really nice truck indeed. I would know since I use to be a Chevy salesman 👨‍💼 and we sold plenty of those here in western PA. I am so glad that you stayed away from the PowerChoke, but the RAM 🐏 with the Cummins would’ve been a solid choice too. I agree with the Chevy bumper being too low and ridiculous, a slight lift/leveling kit and off road bumper would fix that like you said. 💪😎🇺🇸🎣

I really dont see where anyone can go wrong with a new pickup of the 3 no matter preference. I personally am a ford guy, but lets adress the elephant in the room with the "powerchoke" in my 2018 f350 is running 450hp and 935 tq. While the 2018 lp5 has 445hp and 910tq. If given the chance to drive either you probably cant tell a difference. But ford has that slight edge just saying.

@@calebbailey7730 I actually agree one can't go wrong with any of the Big 3 or 4 if one were to put the GMC Sierra in the mix. All 3 diesels are solid performers. I only say the Powerchoke joke because my Dad, my youngest bro and quite a few friends are Ford fanboys and it ruffles their feathers. All 3 diesels are overkill for hauling a boat, one could do so easily with a 1500/150 properly equipped, but the diesel helps for long trips and if he goes places where there are steep inclines. Plus if he had to tow equipment for his new place or a big hunting trailer that helps as you know being a F350 owner.

People who say ram is shit probably have never owned on. But I’m sure the next post will be “I had six, they all broke down at 10,000 miles with trans, engine, and body issuers”. I’ve got four sitting in my drive way right now and all but one is running because the ones that’s not has no engine because I’m restoring it. Ones got 415k miles then 140k miles and my new ram 2500 has 25k miles great trucks.

I have a 08 cummins, solid drivetrain but the truck isn’t my favorite interior/exterior wise. I plan on getting a 15-19 GMC Denali next. They’re my favorite by far. Not a ford guy at all so I think you made a good choice since the 68RFE matched with the 6.7 cummins isn’t a great transmission at all. (My trans in my 08 is a stage 3 built by Ultimate Transmission)
