@Bla Blaahb I think we should abolish the government as a whole. The private market always produces better results than the government does. In other words, the power should be in our hands(the citizens) rather than random people who don't know their ass from their elbows. But in the current system we have now, defunding the police hurts more. The reason why is because we're not allowed to arrest and stop criminals for the most part. We can't take justice into our own hands the cops will come for us. So by taking them off the streets and leaving us vulnerable since we can't be vigilantes is not a good idea. There wouldn't be a wild west. We would have a private market for security firms/insurance companies to protect us. Plus, we seen crime fluctuate heavily in the last 100yrs despite having a police force this entire time. Look at the take over in Washington a year or 2 ago. We weren't legally allowed to go in there and restore order because we get in trouble from the government. In a free society we could have gone in there at any time with the help of security firms too since the vast majority of the population didn't agree with the far left on this.

I wanted to checked out why Jewish politicians (endorsed Yang for NYC Mayor) and why they said that Yang has been consistently fair across the board in terms of (not pandering but) sincerely caring for every community represented in NYC - so I checked out the following vids on this guy: JRE with Yang: 2 years ago (and this guy’s visions for what to do about future jobs blew me away). Yang’s concern for non-college graduate White men (who I learned also are being left behind) blew me away. NPR with Yang: If only Trump had this guy to work on the solutions that Yang presented on the NPR interview - he would have won by a landslide. Lastly, Yang’s brilliant (yet common sense) solutions along with humbly working with grass community roots organization, NY unions, and with selfless NYC politicians have the potential to accomplish great things WITH NYC.

@john Cenna if you look deeper into basic income it is not communism because nobody is telling you how to spend it. And you don't have to qualify. There is no incentive to stay poor so you keep your benefits. Right now we spend crazy money on benefits that encourage divorce or single parent homes, having more babies, not working, not advancing or trying. Basic income says, "your life has value." We automated a bunch of stuff and we've got cheap labor from robots, etc. Our production is up. Other ideas are like "raise minimum wage" which equals less money in the hands of poor families and more expense to business owners. Basic income is a really cool idea and not at all communist, it's really different. You should check it out. Not sure if you've been poor, but being poor has lots of incentives to stay poor. Basic income breaks that.
