Good tutorial. I recommend wearing gloves, the brake fluid is corrosive

DOT fluids are dissolving with just water. If you do an power wash, you don't have to use brake cleaner. Good tutorial.

Thanks for showing me. Yeah I will pass on HOPE brakes, the bleeding looks like a PIArse. The DOT brake fluid looks like it will get all over stuff EVENTUALLY. I suggest Shimano for best brake bleed system, I can do each brake in under 5 minutes with zero mess and mineral oil.

+Heliot Master I have a set of Hope DH4's which are 14 years old and have now been installed on 4 different bikes let see your shimano do that. Hope pure quality.

I have both they are the same to bleed. Open lid, pour in fluid, pump through (open/close a couple of times while doing so), tap on the sides to get eventual bubbles up n out, done. DOT issues are WAAYYYYY overrated. Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, Pit bikes, Dirt bikes, Mopeds, etc. uses DOT for a reason and without any problems. Same goes for bikes. It's not a problem. Disadvantages with Shimano are leaking pistons, harder to find mineral brake fluid (the don't have at any gas station just like DOT), no spare parts available to fix them and because of mineral oil lower boiling point, they need cooling fins, vented discs, sandwich material for more cooling etc. Not that they are bad brakes at all. They are cheap and work well, but Hope is most definitely better quality and longer lasting.

+Sidowse: You can bleed Hope without syringes - how is that a problem? They are the easiest brakes i've had to work on ever.

You can use a syringe from the bottom if you please, but I never had to. Yep, bubbles goes out at the caliber with the old fluid. No problem. Works everytime for me. 5 minute job and no fiddling with syringes and shit. On vacations a small piece of hose is all i need to bring to make a bleed. DOT fluid is available everywhere anyway.

Nothing prevents you use syringe. It is just Hope How-To video uses other method. I had my E4's bled twice and mechanic did a syringe method in less than 5min without issue.
