As part of therapy to deal with personal issues, my therapist told me to learn how to tell the jokes of my favorite comics..... Hedburg was teaching me in ways I still am figuring out..... I always give credit to any comic I borrow from, but this man is one of my all time favorites and I do miss him to this day.......

thank you for this!!! when i started doing comedy for the second time i was going to school in the 90's and i would wait for hedberg perform on letterman or some other random comedy show because he was so unique and interesting and then i found his email somewhere online and would write him messages about how to do comedy and he would give me advice all the time and one time he asked me for my address so i gave it to him and a few weeks later i had a signed headshot of mitch which is the same one from this video... it's framed and on my wall to this day!!! i only met him once at the comedy store in hollywood when i was working there and he was much taller than i expected!!! i shook his hand and thanked him for the correspondence which helped me become a better comic and he thanked me for thanking him!!! i was with comedian craig gass when we heard of his passing and craig was mitch's roommate in new york and we both thought it was a hoax until craig called lynn, mitch's wife...it was real... he's still my favorite comic and his jokes will live on for eternity!!! i miss you mitch...

I live in NW Indiana all my life.As an adult in mid 90s,i would listen to Bob and Tom in the mornings on my way to work.Being a union plumber out in Illinois my travel times would sometimes be over an hour one way.Mitch would call into the Bob and Tom Show many times and thats when i first heard his very different one liners type of humor.Then i had a chance to go see him but could never get off work.Bob and Tom sadly announced that Mitch had passed away in March of 2005.Then i really discovered his great stuff.And i guess the sad rest is history.Even George Carlin thought his humor was great.I sure did.Steven Wright's humor is kinda similar......but to me Mitch had the better ideas of what to pass on to his fans.All in all i always thought.....Dang it.....I missed a great tallent.To me ....i blame Lynn his wife.She could have done more.To save his life.Because i knew she was right in there with him and wasn't going to help get him sober.I know she probably didn't think it would kill him at such a young age.She helped load the gun.So now she has to live with herself.RIP ......Mitchel Lee Hedberg........you are missed by millions of fans including me.

Jaco sitting in for "Chuck" on Strategic Grill Locations would've been wild. But I dig Chuck's accompaniment all the same.

All his so called friends saying 'I never knew he was doing hard drugs but I heard stories.... I couldn't help him if I didn't know for sure... Etc etc' I call bullshit on that, most of them knew exactly what was going on. Wish they would just be honest about it instead of coming out with all the crap
@mjmartn Жыл бұрын
And it’s really not their responsibility to save him anyway. Be there if he wants help, for sure. But he wasn’t exactly heavily, miserably into his addiction. He was still having fun. No way he was going to quit.
@snotwurfit Жыл бұрын
@@mjmartn Agreed. I know it's not their responsibility, but I hate all their bullshit "I had no idea" rubbish. They should just be honest rather than play the shocked friend act..

Good content, but we can’t stare at Mitch’s picture for two hours. How come no showing of the interviewees, or of performances? Terrible resentation.

I think a lot of listeners would disagree with you on that dude. He was also a handsome guy as well as being a super talented comedian.
