Ok I know for a fact the “hermès bags” are fake and I feel sorry for the people that got them from you. First of all, the receipt envelope is 100% fake. That’s not how Hermès do them at all. Also, the platic little bag inside the canvas bag is also a huge red flag. And the receipt itself is fake. That’s not how they do receipts at all. You did a poor job authenticating those pieces and you are scamming your subcribers by saying they are real when you know nothing about the products and ask someone on the phone to say they are legit. Shame on you.

Happened to my mom once. Her wrist-watch broke after years of use - and that watch was a gift from some rich japanese woman. The glass was in fact sapphire and the mechanism itself was Swiss. The guy at the repair shop said like wow you have a genuine Swiss watch. So my mom left it with him and got it back the next day. A year later the watch stops working again. Mom takes it to another repair shop and the guy in there says, well, what did you expect from a cheap Chinese mechanism - these break easily. .... The guy who fixed it before simply stole the original Swiss thing and replaced it with Chinese crap.

@candicecart97862 жыл бұрын
A lot of it is pretty easy even for collectors - a major thing is quality - the knockoffs are all made in China and generally they don’t really care about the quality unless it’s something super super valuable in a case where the buyer is more likely to spot a fake that they’re trying to pass off (like old coins- albeit they will do practice runs on run of the mill coins to see if they pass the test at a certain level)... they figure a lot of ignorant ppl will buy Louis and such in the secondary market and be completely ignorant on the item... in Europe they don’t allow photos in the shops bc of counterfeiting (the Chinese send spies to get the designs to copy)- the security on photos is like the secret service 😂.... and any Asian person that walks in (if they even allow them in) is definitely monitored like a hawk 🤷🏼♀️ The counterfeiting is part of the reason Asians (who Europeans label all as Chinese) are treated so badly in Europe - they counterfeit not just couture items, but cultural items like Venetian glass...

they are used to the original stuff, so their eyes are already trained to identify real and fake.

a little bit of advice , Louis Vuitton bags can be easily told if they are fakes if the pattern isn’t upside down on one side of the bag since they tend to only use one design sheet . since fakes are getting better this will probably be easy to cover up now but that’s a little the more you know :)

an easy thing to spot is usually the stitching on items like shoes and purses. the high end stuff uses thicker stitching and i dont really understand why counterfeiters skimp on it

I was told that as well... from the counterfeit sellers though 😅 I think high-end brands (Gucci, LV, Hermes, Chanel... from what I've heard) normally destroy their products that do not pass the quality control. But for shoes/sneakers (Nike, Adidas, Sketcher... from what I've seen), *sometimes* the one that has some tiny imperfections but made in the same factory did make it to the market at a much lower price. Although I've seen only the commonly sold ones, not the rare/collection pieces. Though, most of the times, if you see some items that has a very suspiciously cheap price tag, they normally are fakes. The one to be careful for is actually the one that is 'slightly' cheaper than the store set price, because they are really well made and look passible as real ones for untrained eyes.
@nntflow70582 жыл бұрын
This is correct, many low value items (like $200 card holder) are manufactured in China. Many of the factories actually produces the knock off in the same factory secretly. Many of the flawed items tend to be thrown aside into the fake packing line and sold for the black market.

Coming from a person who use to work at Marshall Fields in Chicago, Macy's (Handbag dept) and retail, a lot of products are rejects or many didn't make the cut so the shop that made the items either throw them in the garbage or sell them. Just because it didn't make it to the store doesn't make them not mfg by the brand (ex: Fendi wants 10,000 bags made, come and pick up products, inspects but only take 6,000 bags instead of all the bags made. Now, this means the rest of the bags were still made for Fendi but either something was wrong with them or Fendi just didn't want them and now they go in the garbage or ppl sell them for 70% cheaper). Reason I love Hermes because they're not as wasteful although I wouldn't personally spend that much on a bag or pair of sandals (shoes). Also, since when does LV authenticate items??... They've been told they can't tell people if their item is real or fake (due to the SA could be wrong and something else, I forgotten. I was told this by an LV SA and a lady right here on YT who use to work at LV and who's channel is about LV).. Yes, replicas now aren't knocks off but look like the real thing..
@andre-raphaelkoch11792 жыл бұрын
LV actually doesn’t authenticate items for you that’s correct. I don’t think she took the items to LV though but to a luxury consignment store. However, if you take an item to LV for repairs they will check if it’s authentic before they do it. So let’s say you buy something on eBay that’s not in the best condition and intend to get it fixed by LV, you can do it and be sure that it’s authentic

This just furthermore shows how ridiculous this whole label/brand thing really is. With replicas this exact, where really lies the difference in worth? It's just all so weird. Edit: just to clarify, I'm aware that many fake items are not up to par quality wise, but there are replicas out there that come very close. And come on, especially sneakers are such a cheap product to begin with and they are charging hundreds if not thousands for rubber and glue. It's also been proofen time and time again that the quality of designer items has going down significantly for years now, while prices go up. Most high end labels produce just as cheaply as fast fashion brands. Chanel is a good example, the hardware on the flap bag used to be real gold plated and the leather used to be much thicker, they were all handmade and the warranty has gone down. The quality is nowhere near what is charged for that bag today and in 2021 they raised their prices by 15% while the product has gotten worse because they're trying to reach Hermes exclusivity which is artificially created anyway. People are getting scammed by these brands. Even the image that came with these luxury brands is void by no because literally everyone and their dog is running around in these labels. Not that that's solely a bad thing because this whole 'I'm better than the working class and need to show it' thing is disgusting anyway, but how special does a Dior saddle bag or a Cartier love bracelet really feel if I see it on Instagram 12.000 times a day?

Honestly I’m not sure what the box of the LV ones was made of but if it’s made if a material that would last it would be a super cute box to have on a dresser or bathroom vanity if you opened it up and set lotions in pretty bottles, a pretty box of tissues or even some costume jewelry in it ! I kinda wish I had that lol
@TintedThrift2 жыл бұрын
A tip for Hermès! At least the boxes - take a black light and shine it on the orange box. Real ones have a repeating horse pattern. If you’re has this it’s a good indication (although not the only indication) that the item inside is authentic.

I'm so glad some of it was real! Plus, you got 2 excellent, interesting and fun videos out of it! I bought a pretty red leather Coach bag in a consignment store last week and thought of your video and the excitement of finding a steal. I was able to authenticate it by searching for the serial numbers and comparing images I found online. Wow, once you see the sneakers next to one another, you can really see the difference.
@andrewdoe34882 жыл бұрын
I am so glad you didn't get completely scammed. However, I owe few originals such as The neverfull LV, Chanel bags and others. However after many years of spending ten of thousands on genuine products I have decided to get myself a fake for the first time. I wanted Birkin bag so bad and felt it would be insane to spend so much money so after some research I got myself high end rep. There is NO CHANCE anyone can find out it's a fake without extremely careful examination and only by someone who's truly expert. The quality is insane and put lots of those "luxury" brands to shame. I never looked back since then.

That wont happen with these name brands. They have to be inspected and passed that inspection to even sell. They would destroy any bad ones, would not sell for less.
@michellegomez54292 жыл бұрын
@@ladyoflove1551 Yes it does happen with these name brands.. Just because an item is luxury doesn't mean rejects or items the company didn't want isn't real. I know this for a fact because I worked at Marshall Field's and Macy's in the designer handbag area and I know some history. Also, when you have a great SA at Bloomingdales as we'll, you learn somethings as my mother and I did. Gucci would put a order in for 10,000 bags (as an example), come in do an inspection, reject the one's that doesn't meet their perfection and most of the time will not take all the bags. Out of 10,000 bags they will only take 4,000-6,000 bags. The rest are either thrown in the garbage or people take them and sell them for 70% cheaper... Also, not all bags are made the same and some rejects slips through the passing as well. Hermes is about the only non wasteful luxury company.

I am so glad you did this video authenticating the items. I hate to hear that the shop is going to sell the fakes. Those fakes will continue to fool other unsuspecting buyers in the future. Someone will buy them and sell them as authentic to some poor girl who saved her money for one. It's actually illegal in the US to sell counterfeit goods. I feel if more people understood the industries behind counterfeit products and the child labor, sex trafficking and worse tied to these products, we would be able to see them for what they are, not simply a cheap bag. I've read news articles of reporters undercover witnessing children being chained to the floor in the warehouses creating these bags. The bags are often toxic materials you would not even want near your skin. No way these should be resold. I know you didn't know this or I don't think you'd have allowed them to sell them. Just wanting help others to know.
@darkslayer7092 жыл бұрын
While I agree, do you think the genuine article isn't made the same way these days? Designer fashion is a far cry from what it used to be and I'd say is actually far more insidious than the fakes because at least with a fake more people are going to be clued in on where it may have come from. How many people save up their money to buy the real thing so they aren't supporting that abuse, not realising they're still supporting it only now they've paid hundreds or thousands more. I was surprised to see them mention re-selling the fake bags though, I thought proven counterfeit goods had to be destroyed and I'm also surprised the designer brands are on board with this store selling their goods running a secondary outlet selling fakes of their goods. It's all round not a good look. Likewise I'm not entirely sure donating very convincing fakes of very desirable, rare trainers is a good idea. How many people who receive those shoes will be assaulted and have them stolen?

I had the same concern about counterfeit bags. It's especially dangerous for the business & the consumer to knowingly conduct a transaction for counterfeit items.
@designerauthentication74392 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I said in my first comment. They don't know who they are re-selling to and there are untrustworthy individuals ready to snag them up and sell them back as genuine. The consignment shop should have never sold those fakes. They should know better than that!

This shop should have known better. It was a huge faux pas to have done so. The people who end up purchasing these replicas then come to an authentication house like us because they were sold a fake from a place who they thought to be a sound resale site. It's not a good idea to go to a consignment shop for authentication. Instead visit a place like ours whose sole interest is in authenticating designer goods.

Just FYI it’s totally illegal to sell replicas, even if you disclose that they are fake. And selling them only perpetuates the problem of fakes making it into the market. The proper thing to do is to destroy them and throw in the trash. I know people will say that it’s wasteful but it’s the only way to stop these companies from making them and selling them-often passing them off as the real thing to unsuspecting customers. Some of these fakes are so good that it’s hard to tell the difference-but they are still illegal no matter what way you slice it.
