I work for a private security firm that does close protection for more than one of guests to that specific wedding, and we were paid by Hilton for our work, even though our regular clients are with us full time. I ended up donating my wedding dress to an organization that makes dresses for little angels that have passed away. I work in oncology so it just made sense to me. I knew I would never wear it again. If I ever see a wedding dress in a thrift store I do the same thing. Makes me feel like the dress is going to a good cause after just wearing it once.

My wedding was my second one (and final one). So I wanted to be a little more casual for this one. It was an outdoor ceremony with a rustic vibe, in the woods at my in-laws homestead in the middle of Fall. I found my wedding dress for LITERALLY $11 at Cato on clearance, and it was perfect! It had lace sleeves and lace detail all over it. My cousin told me after the ceremony that it was like Forrest Gump's wedding (small, quaint, beautiful outdoor setting) and that I looked just like Jenny from the movie in my dress. Just goes to show, you don't have to spend a ton to have a beautiful, happy wedding day.
