My thyroid got burnt out working nights/rotating shifts in emergency response during covid! Took ages to work out what was wrong - all sorts of strange symptoms. Doctor wanted to put me on meds for the rest of my life and instead I quit that job. I tried asking him if it could be related to working stressful shiftwork and he just looked at me blankly. Six months of good sleep and rest later, symptoms and blood work back to normal 😅
@HopewellHeights7 ай бұрын
Funny how they are so quick to dismiss stress as a cause - but it’s real!! Especially in healthcare, basically all of my night shift coworkers had a lot of health problems and some extra weight, it’s so hard the body. So glad you were able to leave that job and heal!

Steph I did similar,I doubled all our favourite recipes and got them stored in our chest freezer. We had alot of soups like potato&leek, roasted tomatoes and pepper, pea and ham and alot of stew, Currys,chill, Bolognese and some seasoned meats ready for the oven/slow cooker it was such a relief when baby was born and I knew myself ,husband and 3 kids could eat proper food! I was thankful of my past self 🤣 I'm so excited for you 🎉

Happy anniversary to you and your husband . I hope your delivery goes smoothly you and baby will be in my prayers. I still use oil and flour to coat my cake pans. Like you said it works why change, lots of things like spray cans are for convenience not that it works better. Also wanted to say that I almost gave up on my third try of sourdough with my all purpose, but finally the day before yesterday it tripled in size so I fed it again last night and woke up this morning and it was tripled in size again I can’t thank you enough I almost gave up but I remember your words saying even though you don’t see any thing going on with your starter just keep discarding and feeding and sure enough, it worked!

I'd love to know the story of how you came to the decision to enter the Sacrament of Marriage. I was confirmed at age 40 (age 69 now!) my husband was Catholic but had fallen away just after we married in 1972. A year after my Confirmation my husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary with a Sacramental Marriage and most recently our 50th anniversary with another re-dedication and thanksgiving Mass. It is a beautiful experience to be drawn by the Holy Spirit to immerse ourselves fully into the Church.

A little hint from a grandma… I used cloth diapers on my kids. My mom tore an old frayed sheet up in strips and made liners for the diaper. When they are dirty you can throw it away, if wet just throw in the wash and reuse. Keeps diapers from staining and easier for you.

Thank you for all you do to bring us this amazing content. I really enjoy your relaxed style and how easy you make it all look. I can't wait to try out some of your SD recipes. And because of you, I have successfully made my first SD starter after a few failed attempts. =) I noticed that you kept yours up on a shelf (makes sense bc heat rises), and now I keep mine on top of my fridge, and it's doing so well! My house stays between 68-70, and I live in SE Texas in an old, drafty, cold house built in the 40's. My starter is just over 2 weeks old, and I think it's going to go in the fridge soon!! I've fed it every day, and it's now doubling each day. I've had it in a med size jar with a coffee filter on top with a rubber band so it can "breathe". I'm a little nervous about trying to make my first ever loaf of homemade bread in my 53 years. Lol
