Ich habe auch einen neugierigen Direktvergleich angestellt, indem ich dem DoppelHOPPER-Doppeldecker-Rumpf die Hochdecker-Flügel von HOPPER angeschnallt habe.

Now the flight characteristics of DoppelHOPPER are absolutely fine.
I also made a direct comparison once by putting the HOPPER wings to the fuselage of DoppelHOPPER.

Great looking airplanes! Auto-generated subtitles seem to be unavailable for this video so couldn't understand anything you say but enjoyed the flight footage regardless. I am surprised that hopper wings can handle the additional weight of the DoppelHopper fuselage so well. I am using a 24 gram motor on my hopper, which is much bigger than what the plans suggest but after seeing this video I think it will be just fine. Unfortunately my hopper has been waiting for me to stop being lazy and do some finishing touches on it for months so I still haven't flown it. I will eventually finish and fly it because it is the cutest airplane I have built so far and the poor thing really wants to fly :D

On my DoppelHOPPER I use a 41-g-BL. It's good to have a little extra power with this one, compared to HOPPER, which is more a slowflyer. DoppelHOPPER is quite a bit more speedy. I wish you a happi maiden flight for your HOPPER!

Wunderbares Modell :) habe für meinen hopper leider nur 5mm Sperrholz bekommen und auch kein messing rohr. Habe als Flächensteckung dann 3 und 4mm carbon rohr im Laden mitgenommen. Ist das problematisch?

Hallo Peter, da sehe ich kein Problem. Hauptsache, die Rohre passen gut ineinander. Das Sperrholz brauchst Du ja nur am Fahrwerk und beim Motorspant. Solange Du's nicht als Ersatz für die 1,5er-Holzteile nimmst... 😊 Viel Spaß beim Bauen!

👍👍👍👍👍Very Nice plane . I have average wind speed of 7-10mph (11-16kmh) can i have an enjoyable flight with the hopper in this conditions? If not, do you have a recomendation? I would heat to keep in hanging in the wall because i can not fly it... Thanks for sharing!!!

maybe CHOPPER with ailerons would be a better option. It's powerful and agile enough so you'll have fun even in slightly windy conditions. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIamkJuMr62NerM

you always need an airplane which can fly faster than the speed of the winds. And by this I mean: for a normal cruising speed, up to perhaps 75% full throttle. It's not the character of a slow-flyer to go at full speed just not to be blown away. An aileron-equipped airplane can be directed with more precision in windy conditions, so I'd go for CHOPPER.
