Glad to find your channel and subscribe. My sister had found your website and told me. I had downloaded some pictures and articles about Hopwood Hall in years past, before you moved there. I believe it was owned by a college at that time. Happy to see you taking on the restoration job! I have not been able to trace my ancestry back far enough to know if I was kin to the Hopwoods of Hopwood Hall. And no, I am not the Daniel Hopwood who is a decorator in England.

These videos are a fabulous watch - saving an 'at risk' medieval manor house, with all the delights and set backs that entails, is a great quest story and the fact you have a real commitment to the social value of the hall to the community, and they in turn are part of the restoration story, is just brilliant! Looking forwards to reading the book for more details and visiting. PS: My little niece started watching and thinks you're hilarious! 😁

You should share it with us in a video. I’d be interested. I’ve been able to most my tree. I found Lady Godiva. And a famous English clockmaker. My grandfather came from the UK to the US when he was 18. My Dads family was early settlers to Maryland from England in the 1600s.

Because you keep a yellow plastic hanger is why you're a great person for the restoration project. Well, I don't know if that makes sense. Lol

I am wondering how you are coping in the last 6 months with all the price rises and the fuel costs. Has funding been cut? How have the recent COVID events helped or hindered the project? Perhaps an overall update video may help with the project. Maybe with 'sponsor a room' or an interactive online website that can give us an idea on what is being worked on, what the history of the house is in particular areas and maybe some costings on how people can help financially with certain parts. Perhaps a few guided tours as things progress for schools... maybe they could have a designated part of the gardens they can maintain if they are a local school? Just some thoughts.
