@@manuelmacias6093 Convenient, yes. Because it's all planned out for you. Cheaper, not necessarily. It really depends on what you're trying to do. Personally, I don't like the idea that I don't get to do whatever I want whenever I want. They offer somewhat little wiggle room for doing things outside of what's already planned except for maybe at night (my time to shine). But then if you do a lot at night you're exhausted for the stuff you already paid for the next day. That's just how I feel about it, but then again I traveled Europe by myself for a reason. :) I like the idea of doing a video about it, though. Cheers!

6:40 as a Scottish person (from Glasgow), everyone that I know including myself wants to stay in the EU (not Europe lol we’ll always be in that) and wants to be independent from the United Kingdom. There’s little respect for Scotland in parliament and that’s definitely going to push us away

As a Scottish person who also studies languages at uni, staying in the EU is the best option for me. With England having a larger majority vote on decisions such as leaving the EU (despite the vote in the whole of Scotland resulting in wanting to remain) it isn’t fair for a country like Scotland who have their own devolved powers and clearly different values. Basically; huge decisions are out of our hands, we are shown 0 respect in the UK parliament and now with Brexit on the cards, you can feel a shift in attitude towards independence. Hopefully if we have another independence referendum we will overall vote yes this time. Hope you enjoyed Scotland!! PS interesting thing about the unicorn being our national animal is that on the front cover of our UK passports, the unicorn and lion (England’s national animal) are standing together but the lion has chains around the unicorns neck! I wonder why🧐🧐 I have English friends and family by the way who support Scottish independence too!

I'm English and I agree 100%, it's shit that Scotland is being forced to leave the EU even though you had a majority vote to stay. Especially after the referendum where you were told 'we're better together' Westminster is really hypocritical and treats Scotland Wales and Ireland like little brothers and not equals. ( I'm a remainer and languages student too so maybe I'm biased ) but damnn English politicians really have some nerve to be doing what they're doing 😑

The main reason for that March wasn't to do with Europe however was for Scotland to have independence from the rest of the UK. Scotland and England joined together in a Union in 1707 under the auspices of an equal union between both countries. A lot of Scots however have long been wanting to regain independence from the rest of the UK. This is purely for self governance reasons. The Scots have very little influence in the UK parliament due to having a much smaller population. This has particularly came into focus due to Brexit where Scotland overwhelming voted to remain in the EU (alongside Northern Ireland) whereas the remainder of the UK voted to leave the EU. Hope that helps a bit.

A very, very long, messy story short, England took over and ruled over Ireland for hundreds of years and when they did, Scottish and English setters came over, which caused a lot of trouble, oppression and conflict. When the Irish people where trying to get their independence they came to some sort of agreement with England that the UK could have the 6 counties/states in the north since most unionists/loyalists (people who identified as English and are loyal to the crown) lived up north anyway. (Not to say there isn't people who identify as Irish up there) The rest of Ireland became what is called the Republic of Ireland and became completely independent from England and its own country, with its own laws, parliament etc. Don't at me in the comments, I know I skimmed over a lot of stuff, but you get the jist.

I'm French and I'm currently studying in Edinburgh, it's crazy to know you're here too! However be careful when it comes to the stereotypical image of Scottish Culture and especially with Tartans. It was hugely romanticised after the ban (cf Battle of Culloden) was lifted and therefore there are lot of misconceptions, which are used to make money out of it. For instance, unlike what the guy in the store says, there was not a different kilt for each clan, but when the kilts were "revived" this idea was spread. That meant more different kilts to make and to sell... Unfortunately this romanticised image has become so huge that even a great majority of Scottish people believe in it. But great video! I hope I get to see you if you're still here!

I'm late to the party but great video! I was born and raised in Germany but my parents are from the UK (my mum specifically from near Edin). Due to covid I obviously can't visit, so this was making me feel very homesick. Some thoughts: I believe you are vegetarian, they have very great veggi haggis which you should try if you every go back. Also, I thought I would mention there have been decades of civil war ("the troubles") around the question of whether NI should belong to Ireland or the UK and although the violence seems to have gone down a bit the question has never really been settled. For a while it looked as though Brexit could start the fighting again (and as Brexit has not actually happened yet, we shall still keep our fingers crossed that it won't). As you know, some there are quite a few people calling for independence from England in Scotland, too. On Brexit: Totally disappointed beyond words that the vote came out the way it did. I am convinced that Britain will be worse of outside the EU and that racism and right wing tendencies had a big part in Brexiteers being successful. Absolutely shameful.. .
