People really are missing out when not playing the side activities: Nil is also back as Red Teeth and his dialogue with Aloy is epic, and there's a legendary weapon reward for completing the races.

she was introduced at the end (if you didn't go out and find the village she was in beforehand), she was the one explaining the cannon

@@mhk013 actually she’s present in Free Heap the entire game, if you go to that location you can do a side quest with her and unlock another side quest that she’s involved in.
