Excellent work AMD. As I have said in a previous video, when games utilize all the Radeon features the RX 7900 XTX is a very impressive GPU for the cost.

i tried it on 7900xtx, really impressive as FSR 3.1 is very close to native based on my experience. for now I prefer FSR 3 Native AA instead for Anti-Aliasing option.

What i find amazing is amd found a way to also allow nvidia to utilize frame generation with fsr3.1 so the performance is so monsterous.

Even the CPU utilization is increased some with lower power draw from the gpu.

This and other videos I'm seeing go to what I had been saying for some time now. All those comparisons of DLSS vs FSR were never really like for like. They were always comparing things that were at least one upgrade cycle apart. It was like comparing DLSS 2 vs DLSS 1 and assuming AMD would not improve FSR like Nvidia improved DLSS. DLSS image stability may still be slightly better, we'll see when the side-by-side comparisons come out, but AMD is not only close enough now for it not to really matter, but have also democratised upscaling and frame gen. They've shown that you don't need the latest and greatest expensive GPUs. I expect Intel to do the same with XeSS. Speaking of, just tried Rachet and Clank A Rift Apart and with ray tracing enabled XeSS seems to have better image stability than FSR. Probably need to play with the AA options. Guess it is whatever combination of settings that works best for each game. I couldn't notice any visual drop in quality from 4K in The Last of Us Part 1 when using FSR 3.1 Native AA with frame gen and upscaling using Quality settings.

I am noticing, I just don't like any upscaling at all. I think frame gen on , native 4k, 120 fps , high/medium settings is better than FSR or DLSS with ultra settings/ray tracing, due to the artifacts upscaling brings. I am LOVING Miles Morales Spiderman with FSR 3 frame gen on , and upscaling off.

At least frame gen is an option! It's so amazing also. Then the fact fsr3.1 found a way to allow nvidia to use frame generation with it is crazy. Further boosts nvidia on amd own solution lol.

​@@Bang4BuckPCGamerI tested FSR 3.1 on Ratchet and Clank RA on Ryzen 7950X3D and RTX 4090. It has massive stutters with Reflex OFF. However, when I set Reflex ON, it smooths out the game. I think it looks better than DLSS frame gen in 1 area, weather particle. DLSS FG has artifice when WP is on.
