Classic Shellsnapper, just when you think that the 100 foot lunges, digging underground, projectile Icebergs, Frost Breath, spawning Ice spikes from the Earth itself, Shoulder mounted cannons and its multitude of other attacks are just not quite enough to ruin your day the damn thing decides to launch a KAMEHAMEHA from its freaking face! Developers: So how many weapons do we give this thing? Boss: Yes. Fun little fact though - Its very hard to hit but the Shellsnapper has a massive weakpoint under its belly. If you lay an acid trap along its patrol path (Assuming it has one) it can drop it in one hit. Otherwise hide in steal and wait for an opening to hit its underside. It causes massive damage.

2 advanced explosive spikes from the skykiller will kill it. Sometimes just one will do if you can hit the middle of its armor.

This thing is awful, it can even shoot at you when it's unaware of your presence! I was in the tall grass and it wasn't even alerted to me, but still its ice cannons were going off in such a way that I had to come out of hiding -- either that or stay put and die 😂

I found it works really well to aim a braced shot at the ground beneath where its stomach is. It'll blow the chillwater sack up and it deals a lot of damage :)

100% Agreed. Yesterday fought two Apex Ravagers and one Apex Behemoth walking together. By the time one Apex Ravager was dead and the other one was almost dead, the Apex behemoth was also almost dead and limping away. Three new reinforcements in Apex form came to 'greet', one Apex Behemoth, one Apex Ravager and one Apex Burrower. It was a 'fun' experience..

Very first time I fought one of these was on that Side Quest with Talannah: it just pops up out of the ground in front of the tunnel and I was just like 'Wait, I'm not ready for this!' I did end up taking it out first time, but good lord it was a messy fight. But at least I'm better prepared now for the next one...

LMAO I was massively underpowered in that mission so I just set up 2 advanced blast traps and 1 acid trap in it's path like a pussy, imagine my surprise when that took out like 90% of its health (still struggled to finish off the other 10% though)

A tips for triggering burrowed shellsnappers, run up to the hill and do a jump strong spear attack, if the camera suddenly acts differently like it’s very interested in that hill you know you fond it, sometimes you can even see the shell resource armor sticking out. Now it won’t emerge until you get of it so try to pull cast to the flying mount to avoid stager.

Use smoke bomb when it goes underground. It'll pop back up. It's frustrating to wait for it and goes too far and does that ice ball.

How do you OVERDRAW your death seeker shadow when it does not have this perk?

Once you upgrade the death seeker bow to the 1st level you should unlock overdraw. It just doesn't have the additional +15% damage perk for overdraw.

It's a normal enemy. With 2 caveats, there are definitely different classes of machine and this is definitely in the large heavily armed class along with Thunder Jaws and Tremor Tusks. It's an Apex variant which are stronger than the standard variants (think elite mobs in wow).

I'm gonna say the Apex Slaughterspine personally, but it barely edges out the Apex Fireclaw, both of them can be brutal fights

I think the apex slitherfang is the hardest I had most trouble with it using the same gear that took me 6 minutes to destroy apex slaughterspines and the 2 ravagers and behemoth near scalding spear. Freeze + braced shot= OP 5 min destruction from long range

For Me It Was The Apex Stormbird The Hardest Boss In All Horizons, In Zero Dawn The Red Curropted Stormbird Was The Powerfull Machine And Stormbird Is 1st So That's Why They Didn't Made Daemonic Stormbird In DLC, There Is No Daemonic Stormbird, But There Is Daemonic Thunderjaw, Rockbreaker, Behemoth, Fireclaw, Frostclaw (I AM NOT COUNTING WATCHERS AND OTHER MACHINES AS DAEMONIC MACHINES CAUSE I AM ONLY COUNTING LARGE AND POWERFULL MACHINES HERE)

Honestly I don't find fire claws that difficult. I just fight them in the thick trees and they can't really do much. Without purgewater slaughterspines are nightmarish. Rockbreakers are a lot less annoying than they used to be because they don't spend an eternity underground. Slitherfangs can be rendered useless if you remove all three shock orbs, and the acid/purgewater sac. Dreadwings can be difficult at times, but they spend an ungodly amount of time just sitting there and letting you whale on them. Stormbirds can be neutralised by removing the cannon then spamming freeze. Tremortusks can be awful with all the artillery though.

Does anyone have this problem when you have extra coils the game will put a message on your screen telling you you have unused weapons and coils. It does this when I am in fights. Is there a way to turn it off.
