The concept of having a co-op game in the horizon universe is so hype. When you mentioned diving into cauldrons as a group I thought of the raids from Destiny, and a destiny style horizon game that would be so cool !

Definitely! I didn’t get into it in the video, but Sony also now owns Bungie, who makes Destiny, so Bungie could definitely be helping Guerrilla a bit with making the multiplayer. Sony has stated the whole reason they bought Bungie was to get their expertise on building multiplayer live service games. Also, they just dropped that Horizon crossover for Destiny 😄

I hope the multiplayer game has good Ai’s (Seyko was a huge step in the direction of actually helpful teammates), because I probably will end up playing it alone myself so it would be nice to have good offline experience. additionally as Aloy is no longer a loner, we will probably have more companions for hunting in the 3rd game and this would be a good training ground for the development

It always felt like to me that HFW sets up a multiplayer sequel. Something about Aloy and crew gathering all of the different tribes and factions going up against a rogue super AI from another planet made me think it could head into an MMORPG-like sequel. It just makes sense to me at least, but that's just me speculating.

Like it said in the video, in order for a server to be able to handle multiple players they would need to sacrifice certain things such as graphics so I wouldn’t be surprised if a multiplayer horizon game would have downgraded or cartoonish graphics.

I don't know where one would get the idea to translate something like Horizon into Fortnite-like animated stylization, I don't see how that connects with the franchise. Imagine if someone decided to make Pokemon game with hyper realistic style where Squirtle is a literal, real-life looking turtle. Some things just don't work

At risk of being ageist, I feel like Rose Leslie, in her late 30s by the time this gets going, is on the old side to play a 19 year old. The only up side might be that an older actor would look more realistic in the Sobeck scenes, and perhaps de-aging software could help? But really...maybe someone unknown would be a better choice. I think people forget, when they do their dream casting, that humans age.

Horizon on PC was PlayStation gateway. Loved that game to bits on PC and when forbidden west came out I was all in on the PlayStation and now I am a complete convert. I hardly ever turn on my PC to play games anymore. Makes sense to keep porting the AAA titles to PC, good way of converting some of the PC master race to console.

Finally got a PS5 and finished Forbidden west within the last couple weeks. I'm very hopeful for a MMO myself. I feel it could be a fun time for my community to enjoy together. Even if its just a 2 player coop, that'd still be nice as well. Coop could be from Aloy and the other secondary chars in both games to choose from.

Here's an idea I had while watching this video: Here's how Horizon 3 and/or multiplayer might go down-- Aloy and Gaia hatch a plan to mobilize the masses in preparation for the arrival of Nemesis and to finally put Hephaestus down (maybe not in that order?) To do that, they command a cauldron to begin mass production of Focuses and dole them out to those who prove their ability (multiplayer early stage/level). Players would then skill up, following quests and missions in preparation for the boss fight!!! It's been quite a while since I've played an MMO (WoW:Cata !!) so the dynamics of that gameplay might have changed over the years. Great video!

I think the graphics shown were good. Super graphics are great in single player but it gets too graphics heavy in multiplayer. Then lag and all becomes a big issue. It would be awesome jumping into cauldrons as a team. The extra challenges added would be interesting. Taking down big machines with a lot of players coordinating could be fun, too.

While the HFW PC port is inevitable, I honestly don't think it's gonna release before the end of this year, since they would need to port the complete game, but Burning Shores released less then two months ago, and currently they still polishing it. I'm assuming somewhere down the line, we will get a "complete edition" of the game, just like HZD, which will launch on PC with a similiar strategy like the TLOU Remake, which was first available only on PS5, and after 6 months, it launched on PC as well. But anyway, that's just my two cents on the topic, quality content as always Arktix, looking forward for more! ✌🏻

Ever since Sucker Punch added the multiplayer co-op Legends mode to Ghost of Tsushima, I predicted that Guerrilla would eventually launch a similar, yet larger, game in the Horizon universe. Then, Sony acquired Bungie, and announced they want to have a dozen live service multiplayer titles by 2026. All signs point this direction, in my opinion.

Have you ever played Ghost of Tsushima? There's a mode called Legends, that has the same concept. You play with other players (Coop) to accomplish a mission and pick from 4 different classes (Samurai, Archer, Assassin, and Ronin) each class having unique abilities. I feel this is something they could push towards to. I don't think an MMO version of horizon sounds appealing, to me that is. But if its something like Legends, I feel it can gain some level of fame. Maybe when the next Horizon game comes out??? Either way, I'm interested

I also think there shouldn’t be just and open world outside of the friend group that you started the campaign with then make a guild system where you could say the hunting grounds base or whatever it’s called moves and is a of fonder this guild with this you could do quests competing against other campaigns parties and also do boss quests where the whole guild fights and it could be a island or area overrun with countless deadly machines around every corner and someone’s hired the guild to deal with them(zeniths) and later there’s a guild fight against a zenith that lets say a lost Hephaestus copy revived the one who hired the guild the guilds destroyed and we have to rebuild it but we win and he realizes all other zeniths failed and he would to so he decides to start a new nation where this guild was hired I’d say Florida cause that would be hilarious imagine a scorpion machine in this clean slate nation he’s looking to create now the guild supports him after his change and now eliminates machines in order for all humanity to thrive again not just the old ones…….. so time later a different game definitely there could be nations from the tribes we have and the word be technologically caught up to the old ones and idk I’m fresh out of ideas lol if you read this whole blurb and have any thoughts on this or comments let me know it’s an interesting concept that I really hope to see soon thanks

Possibly, but I think coming to Switch is very unlikely. As a Sony PlayStation studio, I expect they'll keep it limited to PlayStation and PC. Although, Sony is interested in getting into mobile games, so maybe we'll see some sort of mobile game, which could eventually evolve into a Switch port, perhaps.

I'm sure the footage is only vaguely representative of what the final product will be since it was such an early build (but I AM so curious about what that "lure craft" loadout is). I totally want to give Guerrilla a fair chance before I make up my mind about a game that isn't even released yet!

I’m doubtful about the Horizon MMO idea because the MMO concept (as in open world like WoW) seems dated to me. There are other, more compelling and more modern ways to engage players in coop and competitive multiplayer games. Would rather see something like Fortnite there.

Yeah I’d be surprised (and probably disappointed) if it was just a regular MMO. I don’t think they’d do that though.
