just because those terraforming-only-built machines are imitating the organic 'realism' while still maintaining those mechanical things' duties of P:ZD and GAIA, does not mean they are 'alive'. Late to the party, but the answer to pretty much all your "Can you..?" questions is "Yes!". Horizon is one of the most fulfilling and satisfying gaming experiences you can treat yourself to.

Everyone is right, this is a game that you should definitely play when you an opportunity (maybe wait for it to be on sale). The main story is intriguing and leaves you speculating about the Old Ones and the animal robots. It really is one of the best games in the past 5 years, and for sure one of the most beautiful titles from the PS4 era.

The first game is around 50 hours on the story difficulty alone. Around 80 for the 2nd game. The game takes place around 15.000 years in the future (logs might suggest around 4070, but even those could be old).

It's on Steam and you should play it. Hopefully Horizon: Forbidden West will be launched on PC not long after the console version. PS: They just announced that Horizon will be a trilogy, so there are 2 games coming out which will top the previous version in size and look. It will be awesome.

Bit late to the party on this, but hope you decided to give HZD a try if you haven't already. Can confirm the worldbuilding and lore cashes the checks written by these trailers - pretty much everything in the world has a reason for being the way it is, and the deeper you dig (partly sidequests, but especially incidental dialogue, environmental detail and scattered collectables) the more the game gives back. Once the main story is up to speed, the revelations in that are well-paced too. I know there have been a few teething troubles with the PC port, but otherwise Horizon's an all-around solid experience and for me one of the best open-world narratives of the last few years.

I've only played on PS4, but HZD is such an amazing game. The graphics are beautiful. Moment to moment game play is fun. I really enjoy all of the exploration and discovering back story by finding things in the environment, and even without those the main story is great. The characters are good. It's seriously one of the best, most consistently fun and entertaining games I've ever played. If a Playstation of some sort is off the table for you, just wait until the PC port is sufficiently patched. But play. This. Game. It's worth waiting for however long it takes for the PC version to be over its issues. Oh, and the Frozen Wilds DLC is worthwhile. it's a more difficult section of the map with tougher monsters and cool gear. I beat it before finishing the main story, which is fine (and the hologram guy snarks you for being irresponsible and wandering off to do random stuff, which is kind of entertaining), but if I had it to do again, I might leave it for after beating the main quest. Because it's self contained, and doing it in the middle feels like you're getting totally side tracked from what you were doing before.

I don't own a console so I simply waited for the PC version. Was I confident there would be a PC version? No, but I thought it would be dumb of Sony not to want to rake in more $$ by ignoring those who prefer PCs over consoles. Would I buy a console if the PC version was never released? Nope. HZD isn't the only console game that I was interested in but as long as I know the story and characters, I'm satisfied. I watched the entire HZD gameplay over Twitch at launch and enjoyed the experience. Despite some flaws, it is a well crafted game with an intriguing story. I'll be doing the same with the sequel. I'm keenly interested to know what's next for Aloy. How's my experience with the HZD PC version? I did have one or two crashes but overall, the experience is solid. How the game performs varies with each PC user however as no one's PC is the same as another's unlike the consoles which are locked clone compositions. I can cite one case. Dishonored II. I had a smooth run with the game at launch from start to finish but there were many complaints of glitches and crashes by other gamers.

Everything in these trailer may look like a mess of conflicting themes. Tribal society but there's also powered doors. Humans hunting machines that look like animals. People using bows and arrows but then there's a hologram. Everything does make sense, it is one of the most satisfying journey's I've ever been on in gaming and I have nothing but higj praise for what it does

This is a game that you must play by yourself! Don't watch videos explaining the world and what happened in it, as that might spoil the game. Play the game and experience the story for yourself! Everything is explained as you play! Edit: It really is a spectacular game. I wrote the above with urgency because I'm afraid there will be other commenters spoiling the story for you, and I'd hate that! Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the best games I have ever played. Ever. And I want it to be one of the best games you've played too, and experiencing the story yourself would do that, I'm sure! Also, you said that "this is supposed to be the cinematic trailer, and the graphics look like the gameplay". That's because those are gameplay graphics. The graphics are so good they essentially just used them for the trailer. 2nd Edit: Yes, you get to explore the cities! There's not that much in them, but everything you've seen in these trailers is explorable, and there's more you haven't seen. About armors; you don't craft your own armors, but there are a lot of different armor sets, each with strikingly unique styles to them! Thank you for the reaction! And yes, you do look like the main character, Aloy! You're both gorgeous!

@@ThatRedheadGamerGirl I haven't read the reviews, but I understand the skepticism! I have a PS4 myself, and played it there; it runs very well on it. Oh, one more thing! While you don't craft weapons or outfits yourself, you can - if I remember correctly - quest for them. Any given merchant who sells weapons and outfits can give you quests that reward you with the desired weapon or outfit in their inventory as an alternative to paying if you can't afford it. Also, a reaction suggestion! Have you ever reacted to Mass Effect, or any of the trailers for that game series?

If you haven't already, definitely check it out! It is an interesting game, and the story behind what's going on in the world is really fascinating. I saw you note in another comment that you were on the fence because it wasn't playing great on PC. For what it's worth, I just finally got it on PC a couple months ago, and it seems like they released a lot of patches to clear things up.... I can't recall any major issues to speak of during my 112hrs playing through everything. Only tip I'll give you is to not get into a mentality of "I have to kill all the robots!"... herds respawn UNREASONABLY fast, and I found myself getting stuck in an area because I'd just keep going back and forth killing 2 or 3 herds that were close together and rapidly respawning. Also a great way to accidentally reach level cap WAY earlier than you were supposed to, haha.

I'm almost done playing the PC version of the game. I had been wanting to play it since it was announced, but I never got around to getting a PS4. It is by far one of the best games I've played in the last few years. Love the story. Aloy is a wonderful character, and the way they tie her story with the events of of the past is fantastic. Totally recommend it. The PC version is a little buggy, but they seem to be making solid attempts to patch it up properly. I've been lucky and it performs fine. Only 3 crashes over the course of 80 hours of playing.

2021 for me. Started April 23rd, 100% completion with all achievements by May 20th. Not boasting though. The achievements are dead easy, anyone can do it. The point is that this game deserves to be fully completed with every datapoint, collectable and weapon unlocked. So much care went into it and the story deserves to be explored and savoured.

I played this game when it came out, I liked everything about it, just at the time I don't think I liked how the combat was. Maybe because I wasn't use to it and needed to play other games like Tomb Raider to get use to it and how it would require you to use all resources for one mini boss. Although I wouldn't mind giving it a go again.

Everyone seems to play the game slightly different... ive beat it many time, but i still watch every playthrough i find for it just to see peoples reactions to the story, and also to watch people use some of the weapons i dont care for lol

10:20 - no, that's the game engine. Guerilla Games didn't repeat their mistake they did with Killzone, when they sold a rendered animation as actual gameplay. :D

@@ThatRedheadGamerGirl yeah, theyve already released, 2 or 3 (can't remember which) patches. The funny, but also somewhat frustrating, thing is that, port aside, the ps4 version was a huge technical innovation, and stayed at a solid 30 fps pretty much no matter what was happening. The put a ton of work to making it as solid and stable as possible, it NEVER crashes on ps4, the ps4 software itself is more likely to crash or frame drop than horizon zero dawn. And yet 1 3rd party port and suddenly that reputation and hours and hours of work get tossed away for pc. I'm so glad the patches are happening so the pc versions will hopefully experience the solidness the ps4 version has. (And funnily enough, this is probably the only game I can think of where the final gameplay looked **Better** than the prerelease trailers and gameplay) Also SUPER recommend going in looking up as little of the story and world stuff as possible, as its revealed FANTASTICALLY as part of the game.
