Horizon Zero Dawn - Ending Scene

The plot revolves around Aloy, a hunter and archer living in a world overrun by robots. Having been cloistered her whole life, she sets out to discover the dangers that kept her sheltered. The character makes use of ranged, melee weapons and stealth tactics to combat the mechanised creatures, whose remains can also be looted for resources. A skill tree facilitates gameplay improvements. The game features an open world environment for Aloy to explore, divided into tribes that hold side quests to undertake while the main story guides her throughout the whole world.

Me too. Such a POWERFUL and PROFOUND story. The arc of Aloy WAS intricate. The meaning behind small causalities having MASSIVE effects on the future... So much meaning in this story. People admit combat is good, but i think its the best out of all the games ive played. 20 different machines, over 10 different bows, different arrows, etc. Comparing it to other triple A games(witcher,cyberpunk, etc.) it blows it out of the park

Why did the game set us back to before the final mission when we beat the game, I thought that was so weird when I finished it and I could replay the final mission. It should have just been that there are no more main quests

I thought that too until I just realized watching this and the after credits that she left her spear in HADES and never took it back out again. We’d be running around without the ability to override machines, which is the entire gimmick. (Why the hell did she leave the spear in there, that’s just stupid. Let’s just say goodbye to master override, who needs you)

Mees E The DLC implies that Hephaestus was behind the increasingly aggressive machines whereas the Eclipse were behind the corruption of the base game’s machines and the resurrection of the machines that literally consumed the biosphere. My guess is that Sylens and/or Hephaestus will play some form of antagonistic role in the sequel. It would be interesting to see each sequel deal with Aloy’s battles w/GAIA’s rogue subordinates and/or a reveal of the Odyssey’s humanity, who were given the Alpha build of Apollo, which had no failsafes to protect them from the burdens of knowledge unlike the copy Faro destroyed.

Two amazing little details from this beautiful scene (which did make me cry) that took me a long time to really notice. 1) There's a perfect triangle of flowers around Elisabet's body. The same triangle of flowers that grow around every metal flower you find in the game. As everything is in this new world, it's Gaia's tribute to life. And it started with Elisabet's death. Every metal flower that Gaia made was her own tribute to Elisabet. 2) When Gaia asks her what she would've wished for "him or her", Elisabet puts an emphasis on "her", very noticably. Gaia could've made a male clone of her creator, but because Elisabet was obviously emphatic about having a girl, Gaia made Aloy a female clone.

Metal flowers appeared around the same time when Gaia self destructed, meaning it likely isn't Gaia that created the flowers, but Demeter. The Alpha in charge of Demeter was a poem fanatic and every flower has a poem on it. This is further implied when talking to CYAN

It's such good storytelling that it ends with Aloy's own personal journey coming to a conclusion and not the overall plot. Alloy never asked/wanted to be a hero, but she took up the call to arms when it was needed to protect other people. She's exactly the person Elisabeth describes as her future child and something we should all aim for. A lot of chosen one storytelling misses the mark when it comes to the inner personal conflict and forget to make it separate from the hero journey.

Gotta admit, I play games already around 13years now, no game touches me like this game, this game is beautiful, had a great action and adventure on it, a 10/10 long story, and the soundtrack, the sound track is perfect for the game, And this is the fucking first time a game made me cry Twice!, first when sobec sacrifice her self (when she said "it's okay, I wanna go home"+the soundtrack plays, me = swimming in tears ), and then the ending (it's just a beautifully done ending)

I don't think a video game has ever moved me as much as this one. I loved the early Assassin's Creed games - especially the Ezio trilogy. Red Dead Redemption series is phenomenal. But Aloy and her story are both relateable and moving in a way I'd never expected. Thank you Guerilla.

i just finished this game for the first time. it never interested me much, but i was quite surprised by how much i enjoyed playing it. to be honest, for the big part of the game i wasnt too much immersed in the story (was very busy with all the collectables and side quests). but then towards the end i discovered this whole zero dawn project. and then i was amazed by brilliant world ending scenario and this feeling of the situation back then (through listening to logs and holograms). and at this ending i really wished that elisabet somehow survived, in frozen state, missing or whatever. she really made strong impression on me, so it would be priceless to see aloy meeting with her. anyway, it was good game

I wondered about that too. But i'm guessing it's because Talanah isn't a required ally. Varl and Erend's side quests has to be completed before Looming Shadow (if not, the main quest will force you to) so they didn't put Talanah in the cutscene :(

Brother Alaric looks good enough especially on a well calibrated screen. The new ps4 pro patch update makes it look even better now because of the calibration tool. Now you can balance the game's picture perfectly. Anything can look better with PC mods and upgraded hardware but for the price you would have to pay, I'm happy that it's a ps4 exclusive since you get the best looking version on the Pro for a fraction of the price you would have to spend on a super PC. On my 55 inch q9fn it looks better than most games I have seen on PC because of the way it is perfectly balanced and calibrated. The HDR on my set up is truly phenomenal. Can't imagine this game looking any better than it does on my set up. Any improvements would be minimal just like the difference between the last of us on the PS3 and the last of us remastered on the ps4 was minimal despite being on beefier hardware. If there was a bow or courtesy emoji, I'd use it now.

Loop Hole and get that with a 4K TV. Vibrant but realistic color. Just makes anything look beautiful. The blue lights of the machines and blades of green grass has more contrast and vibrancy to it. My brother has a PS4 Pro and a 4K TV and when I came over to play Horizon Zero Dawn, it was stunning. Played with a PS4 headset and every bit of music gave me the chills.

this game was such a labor of love :') doesn’t matter how many times i play,, i am always FLOORED by how beautiful the artistry and writing is. and this scene, i mean... what a way to wrap it up. aloy never got her mother and elisabet never got her daugher,, but a thousand years apart they mirror each other in every way they could have hoped for. aloy reaching for guidance and being inspired by the echoes of elisabet's efforts, and liz hoping for a safe and compassionate future that aloy devotes herself to protect :') crying,, it's seriously the most beautiful story i've ever seen

I agree with you. Don't get me wrong - Forbidden West is still a damn good game. But to me, Zero Dawn is the better game. Better story, less clunky mechanics.

why doesn't talanah show up at the end of the final battle? she yelled for aloy to finish the creature just before i killed it, but she's not in the ending cinematic.

i think since the two guys are part of the main quests, they are guaranteed to be there, but talanah was side quests. the ending is pre rendered (which is why she's wearing her default outfit) so they couldn't have just added her just in case people didn't follow the hunting grounds quest line

Died on the same mission for 1 hour straight even after changing difficulties 4 times, until i put it on story BECAUSE my heals, ammo and resources were not saving before dying, so i had no heals and 100 scraps for ammo. After looting the enemies i accidentaly bought the wrong skill so i decided to load the save and all the dead enemies dissapeared. I quit and uninstalled it

I just finished this game last night and instantly jumped into playing New Game + and it is awesome that the Saves for New Games + is separate from the original Saves so i think i will go back and forth between the two versions. Awesome and an awesome game. This summer i have finished The Last of US 3x, The Last of Us 2 2x, replayed some save points on both games and now i have finished Horizon Zero Dawn. I guess it is the summer of bad ass young girls for me...i should be careful how i phrase that. Onto Ghost of Tshushima.

have you tried putting it on story mode? makes the combat super easy (you take no damage and your weapons deal a ton) but there really is a lot going on still. this type of game isn't for everyone!

@@hell0mega I was on story mode, it's not the machines that bother me (except the thunder jaw that one scares me) it was just the large map. But I commented that awhile ago, I completed the game now.
