Dont buy now. still not optimized properly. Especially for Nvidia cards. The recommended gtx1060 goes as low as 40fps on 1440p on high, which is unacceptable. Wait for the patches.

Danial Mahmood Horizon Zero Dawn was 1 of my fav ever games but by the time I got platinum, I totally lost all interest and didn’t end up buying the dlc. I just had no will in me to want to play it. I really hope hzd2 will improve on all aspects. I hate games with huge maps and I was glad that hzd had a much more manageable map size but for hzd 2 I hope the map will be about twice as big as first game and have many fun activities to do. I want more enemy type and many more weapons. If they can do all that, I’ll be very happy but if they do what lots of devs do and keep everything more or less the same, no varied combat unimaginative enemy, same map size and no new weapons, then I prob won’t buy it but I think they will improve somewhat, how much exactly, we won’t know until release. Would be great if hzd2 was a launch title for ps5. I really hope there’s at least 2 great game’s at launch because if not, I will not pre order ps5. Can any1 remember the full line up of PS4 launch games? I only remember killzone, bf4 and maybe some sports games.

The Frozen Wilds are a great expansion to it. After getting through the main story I highy recommend doing the Frozen Wilds, there are some really great challenges in it and very challenging fights. Some might take eveything you got! :D

My experience so far (i5 2500K, GTX 1660 Ti, 16GB RAM): At first, I put the settings to best performance, and didn't see any stuttering at all, so I raised it up to medium. I do get some stuttering from time to time, but usually only transitioning into an area with a ton of people. Other than that, FPS holds around 60 - 80 (this is 1080p). No crashes, so far. Note that my cpu barely meets the minimum reqs, and is not overclocked (yeah, I know. I never got around to it), and my gpu is by no means a powerhouse.

I've upgraded both my nVidia drivers and upgraded to Win10 2040, and enabled hardware accelerated gpu scheduling. No issues running the game at all. My system is old too, Intel Core i3-6100 with a GeForce 1060 GTX card.

Had tons of trouble and now she’s running great. I haven’t had a single stutter or crash. I never changed any graphic settings. But in beginning it crashed like 10 times trying to run optimization process. Changed advanced system settings to get it to run.

Can confirm I have been playing without noticeable issues. Everything is on ultra, except clouds, shadows and water reflections, which I always knock down a setting or two as required. 1440p 144hz, Ryzen 3900x @ 4.2, 32 gig 3600 ddr4 Ram, 2080ti, m.2 storage. Game runs great. PC's can be tricky to optimize for though, since not everyone has the same hardware. The only real annoyance is the game wants to use the built in monitor speakers for cut scenes. I can change the setting, but it doesn't save.

Have to say that the game runs reasonably well for me. Having played for around 7 hours now, my average frame rate is 109 fps @ 1440p. I used the recommended settings from Digital Foundery, will try to fiddle around with em tomorrow. Hardware used: R5 3600, 5700XT, samsung 970 evo, LG 27GL850. It's not all as bad as people make it out to be.

Game runs nearly perfectly fine at my TR3970X with 1080TI. Microstutters are the only issue for me, but they are far between and barely even noticeable so it's really not a problem. The shader optimization that took place when first starting the game was hilarious. Was done in about two minutes :3

This game is all over the place for me. 3970x / 2080Ti / 64GB - initially it was choppy and barely over 40 fps at 4k ultra settings. I then rebooted and came back and it's in the high 50's. 10700k / 2080 Super / 32GB - from the start it ran fine but was in the high 40's at 4k w/hdr with high settings. Both systems took about 10 minutes to render the initial shaders and I have seen the NVMe raid on my workstation actual hit 6GB/sec reading when loading. I imagine that load times would be slower if on a HDD.

Warning ⚠️ When you First Launch the game Optimizations took about 10 minutes and system Ram was Close to 20 gigs ... if you have 16gb mite take longer to finish & i would Re_Start the game Let your Ram reset : mite be why peeps have issues with stutters, etc ... my buddy had no issues either & he has 32 gigs of Ram as well 🔨

If they wanted to prevent it from being cracked, they would’ve implemented a DRM, but it literally had no anti-crack protection. They were not concerned about it being cracked and even through these issues, their sales will still be good. The existence of cracks will never discourage companies from making or porting games.

The problem now is the price of games which is too much and the DLCs also make a ton of money for the devs and publishers with minimal cost and effort. DRM is also because of piracy and the only game that wasn't cracked until now is 2015's Need for Speed because it used an atrocious form of always online DRM

My first hard crash was 38 minutes in with 20 of those minutes being the game running my hardware through its system to figure out the optimal settings. I didn’t even get through the first half of the tutorial before my first crash. After that initial crash I’ve had no issues though. Definitely a fun game and worth getting once all the issues are ironed out. I knew it was a risky buy when I saw all the bad reviews but I’m currently having a blast.

Average PC here (not too good, not too terrible), took me a while to tweak graphics as it seems the pre-defined quality settings don't work well at all. Maybe it's just a non-tested port, but playing with graphics to come into help of your rig seems to fix most of the problems. Some stuttering at the beginning (weird shaders), the rest goes butter smooth.

Ryzen 5 3600 and GTX 1660 Super here, running at almost stable 60 fps at 1080p high-ultra. Not noticing any stutter or crashes so far. There are definitely some issues especially in cutscenes but the game is very playable.

@DanRage47 My FPS drops significantly on medium settings for reason even though my PC has a GTX 1060 3GB and an AMD Ryzen 5 with 6 cores and 12 threads. I am getting below 10 fps and the game is unplayable. I don't mind medium graphics as long as it runs the game smoothly at 60 FPS, but on my system it ran like crap. It said before I launched the game that I needed update my drivers even though I downloaded the new one just before starting up the game. Well, I don't know what else it could be, but if others are experiencing this I'll leave this here and if I find a solution post it here.

I have a 6700K, and a 980 Ti. I wasn't experiencing any crashes until I fought Sawtooth or whatever it's name was. Since engaging that enemy I've crashed so many times. Even after killing it, I now get periodic crashes. It sucks and I hope they fix it soon. Game is pretty fun so far, I'm playing on the hardest difficulty, the main annoyance right now is having to spend so much time trying to max my HP pots.

Bought it when it was on sale on steam recently for $30. Patches have been fixed. And have been having a blast :) I never played it on PS4. So this is a great first time experience :)

That's one of the great things about consoles, if it runs on one, you know it will run on them all. I have a pretty top spec PC but will tend to buy games on either my Xbox or PS4 for that very reason. But then I don't care about having the most super duper hi res graphics and 4k. 30-60fps and 1080p is good enough for me :)

There is no fair justification for exclusives. If I ever buy a console it will be for Xbox exclusives so I can feel happy funding a pro consumer company they have a nicely priced game pass for PC. PlayStation five will be worse and continue the pure anti consumerist exclusive move because its worse.

@@magellanic750 At this point yes exclusives are key and very relevant. Considering the fact that console makers pretty much look over each other shoulders to copy specs from one another. Also main thing I've noticed is 1 PC gamers are the most entitled group on the planet and 2 sony was ahead lmfaooo so no they didn't need to pander to ppl to look ''pro consumer'' lol. Remember when xbox was up after the success with the 360 and they thought it was all gravy for the xbox one? But yes the ps5 exclusives will be glorious for the fans anyway.

Update: Went to a couple of sites for customization and after a few tweaks, it ran like a champ with a very slight stutter occasionally. Optimisation aside, THIS GAME IS BLOODY AWESOME!

Don't use V Sync Use bordeless mode if playing at 4K (this resolution is broken in fullscreen) Set refletions and clouds to medium, the rest you can use High or Ultra My RTX 2080 ti + i7 8700k is running fine at 4K60fps with few drops to 50-55. I'm getting few stutterings, but it was a lot worse without these tips

I bought this on a holiday steam sale a couple years ago now and only just started playing it. My laptop with a 3080Ti is running it at max settings, 4K HDR 90-100fps. I'm loving the experience. I can't wait for the sequel to arrive on PC next year now. I can see the improvements in mocap, etc., even from the base game missions to the frozen wilds content so the next one should be a visual spectacle on PC!
