I find it funny how some people will happily pay full price every year for an essential re-skin of Call of Duty, but complain about this. Talk about miserable... Zero Dawn didn't technically need a remaster, but for only 10$, they offer a massive graphical improvement along with new mo-caps for the stilted npc interractions. It's a good deal for anyone who likes this classic.

Never finished it 😂 I got about 6 hours in after starting it back in 2017 and have played about an hour a year 😂 I just couldn’t get into it for some reason part of me thinks I should upgrade but part of me thinks I will probably never finish it. Today on watching other reviews I found out you can scan the enemies for weak points 🤦🏻‍♂️ seriously I didn’t know that 😂. I played and completed gow 2018 and had no idea about the runes until ragnarok 🤦🏻‍♂️ but it did take me 2 years to finish the game no joke I’ve only played the demo so far not the full game of ragnarok.

YEEEES. The first game was so much better than the sequel in terms of story. Even though the graphics was improved and the gameplay was improved, the story was so boooooring. There was so much talking, so much dialogue, and Aloy wasn’t even a good character. In the first game she was much more better as a character and was written well. The story of being motherless, being an outcast, and finding your true mother, only to realize you didn’t had a mother, and was instead being created by a machine. It was soooo written well, and the story was awesome. I hope the 3rd game will have a better story, but I seriously doubt that.

And the whole plot line about zeniths taking over, is not my cup of tea. I do admit, there are some things I like about the sequel, like the improved graphics and gameplay, but the story didn’t hit that well for me.

The trophies not carrying over is actually a positive for me. Having previously platinum'd HZD I had little reason to do every last sidequest on repeat playthroughs. Starting from scratch will give me more reason to enjoy re-discovering everything HZD had to offer!

I got to a point with Zero Dawn where the gameplay started to get monotonous but the story kept me interested. Forbidden West gameplay kept me interested far more than the first. I may go back to the ZD remaster since it's been a very long time and Alloy was far more likeable in ZD than FW for me.

You should watch Gorrila's GDC videos. They said something that they realized shortcomings of their system too late after release. They were planing to revamp it for the next game as it would require too much work, it's not something they could add as some features in DLC. Well, new game got the improvement.

Remasters are only a "problem" when it's not a game someone wants lol. New devs get experience on the engine and tools, new audiences get to play, fans get to experience it again the best way possible, it doesn't prevent development of new games, no one is forced to buy it, cheap upgrade. @@smcdonough1427 You are factually incorrect. Sony doesn't have to force anything. Horizon Zero Dawn sold over 24 million copies and Forbidden West was over 8 million as of last year. You personally don't have to like Horizon, but it's an incredibly successful series lmao. It is one of the most relevant and successful IP Sony has. That's why the Lego devs asked Sony if they could use the Horizon IP to make the Lego Horizon game.

Since I already had the original I was also able to upgrade for only £10. Very much worth it. The foliage has been massively improved. Settlements feel much more alive. Faces have been drastically improved. Didn't hesitate to buy. My only gripes are going from Forbidden West back to Zero Dawn takes some getting used to. I am really missing the shield wing. It is crazy how much more freedom it allows you. Same with being able to swim underwater and fly on a Sunwing.

I’m glad I waited to play this game. I never finished the ps4 version. Barely started it actually. Maybe got into a couple missions but got distracted with other games. This new version is AMAZING. I have been loving it, the story is great, visuals and gameplay is fantastic. I am very happy I waited. I happened to break my leg and have nothing better to do right now and catching up on games like this has been really great.

In a patch they actually added auto pick up for items. In horizon 3 it would be interesting if you could actually use the shieldwing as an actual shield. Maybe even as a weapon as well, that would be good.

Horizon Zero Dawn on PS5 Pro using ’Favor resolution’ mode is definitely NOT running 60fps. It’s 30 and bad frame timing at that. Just use the favor performance mode. It’s solid 60+ fps and looks amazing!

These upgrades are happening because now the game development costs have sky rocketed to a different level, and teams have also grown in size. During the Ideation stage, most of the team members are lying idle but getting paid, and therefore, these Remasters/ remakes are happening. The remakes/remasters are probably being developed by B or C team, who probably have nothing to do during the initial phase. And nobody is forcing you to buy these games. These are for new audiences who have just brought console or haven't played this game before. I dont mind these remasters/remakes unless all their efforts are going into these remakes, which I am sure is not the case. In this case, we can definitely see a lot more love being put into the upgrade. 10$ worth it.

I wanna just remind everyone who hates this remaster, that Rockstar Games simply released Red Dead Redemption on PC without any significant improvements and are asking $50 for that bullshit, while this remaster is a huge work that costs only $10 for upgrade, even if you got your copy of game for free. Yes, if you haven't the game in your library, you must also pay $50, but this is for both versions of games and two digital artbooks, which is obviously more fair deal than Rockstar Games offers.

Well I will still say this isn't a game that needed a remaster. I would have been happy to just revisit it as it was. It's still a gorgeous game. But, what they did do with it as a remaster exceeded what I thought they were going to. This is the game I used to first test out performance of the PS5 Pro. And when I booted it up, it was like I barely recognized it. I knew where I was in that particular save file but everything looked significantly better. Especially Aloy herself I have not played the sequel so I can't say if it really looks as good as that game does, I would suspect it doesn't. But it does look significantly better than it did on launch. This isn't just upscaling some textures. And it's good because it got me back into this game and I had forgotten how cool it really is. It's pretty basic open world action game stuff but just the universe they created here has a lot of interesting lore, and these are some of the best enemies in video games. It's always fun to just explore this game world and have a mixture between fighting for survival and intentionally hunting things

That wasn't them auto-popping. This was a trophy that went off because I levelled up, so it basically triggered previous trophies. But if you had completed a quest already that had a trophy, you couldn't complete that quest again to pop the trophy if that makes sense - Aaron

I had no interest in playing this game at all but I grabbed it when it was free during COVID and 2 years later when I bought my ps4 I tried it and ended up loving it. I also thought the side quests were fun and interesting, I didn't know it wasn't liked.

Obviously they lost money on concord and this is a sure bet and not bad for the price, but I wish they had remastered the Resistance or Killzone games. Or gave a 60fps update to Bloodborne. Easy money there.

It's a damn good game. I've played them all extensively, Zero dawn has the best storyline, the rest just expand on that storyline
