To me the part that made the whole PSN thing stand out was games not being sold in Countries without PSN (which caused Valve to have to refund a lot of pre-orders of Ghost of Tsushima) which clearly feels like it wasn't among the information disclosed by Sony to Valve while Sony does I believe sell their consoles on those countries regardless of PSN availability or lackthereof. That's to me the big elephant in the room. From the players side, I mean, it's not like EA or Ubisoft haven't been doing the same for a long time now and you don't see people making the same type of "noise" about it. The only difference is Sony's just starting to give a bit more attention to PC as an extra source of revenue so they're the latest to do what EA, Ubsoft, Battlenet whatever others have done for years, requiring more than just a Steam login. To me, if they want to take that stance, then they shouldn't be allowed to sell consoles in countries without PSN. It's amazing that we're well past the time of different broadcast systems and "lines"(long gone are the NTSC and PAL days for the common folk), with things being almost entirely digital, yet we have geolocking just because.

Not exactly what he implied. Business wise it's an excellent strategy for the remaster but he goes on to say it is an unsustainable strategy given that it takes a lot of money and resources to do this. The controversy is that the PS4 version looks perfectly good and already runs extremely well on PS5. The backlash is that people want new games, not endless remasters.

@@EnginManap Black Mesa was fun, but it lost the charm of the original by making some of the areas (all?) far to big - they were designed a certain way back in 1998 and I don't think the updated version worked as well as the original .. in my opinion it would take the professionals at Valve to remake Half-Life 1 correctly --- just my opinion.

Remasters are to lure in new players. People that have finished these games are not likely to repeat based on the graphics improvements. However for a new player picking Horizon over some other game is significant I applaud Sony keeping their catalog in line with modern hardware. This is commendable. I do not like that some of the heavy hitters get very much delayed upgrades like Demon Souls and I expect Bloodborne in few years with PS6.

My Afraid is Sony will keep up with the "Last of Us" and "Horizon" update while they are already great games. I Would prefer this investment went to older ps3 and below games, like they did it with "Demon's Souls" that it really feels like a massive upgrade. Cause this upgrade for a game that I just play a couple years ago won't make me play it again cause is a small upgrade. not like Resident Evil 4 or similar that a lot of things were updated to be in today standards. If this doesn't affect other productions I don't mind

The thing that confuses me about everyone complaining about requiring a PSN qccount on PC is that Xbox have been doing this for years already and noone seems to care. I was caught by surprise when I recently bought Forza Horizon 4 on Steam and was met with an Xbox account screen. I don't like any company doing this but why do Xbox get away without complaint?

You did not mention: 1. More details seems to also mean more fog in the background. 2. Most char models looks worse and less detailed 3. A bonus that opening shots in the intro? I think Sony should start coming out with both Console and Pc version’s of the game at same time if they plan on releasing a Pc version in the future. Reason why they are doing console releases then Pc release is because they want to make money of people double dipping and getting it first on console then pc. Didn’t work to well with GOD Ragnarok so hopefully they learn from this and if they want maximum profit release on both. Didn’t work for FF16 as well so they should stop being greedy.

If Sony releases console and PC versions on the same day, then they'll lose millions of console sales, because there would be no reason for PC gamers to own a PlayStation console. That's one of the main reasons why Microsoft's Xbox console sales dried up. It's also why Nintendo will never release their games on PC.

LMFAO I have multiple plays of both Horizon games on performance, quality, and the HZD PS5 port. I also have multiple runs of Tsushima on PS4/PS5+DLC. This is a "You" issue.

Stories are prolonged with boring side quests, everything goes super slow and etc. If you played those multiple times - you either had nothing else to play, indicating same thing as everyone is saying - both PS and XBOX have almost no games this generation (if that changes anything - I have both consoles and PC - have not touched consoles in months now), or you simply have way too much spare time to waste on same rinse-and-repeat prolonged game play. HZD and Tsuchima are very good games, but definitely not THAT good

Next on my docket is finishing both Nier games, Stellar Blade, Lies of P eventually. Different tastes in our gaming repertoire.

I understand people getting upset about how Sony allocates their limited resources to a remaster no one wanted instead of, let's say, making a Bloodborne remaster or remastering an older game that could use a modern graphics update. It's not depressing for gamers to want Sony to make good choices. I want to see Sony succeed and make money just as I want to see Xbox succeed and make money and compete with Sony. What's depressing is where the game industry is currently heading, with Sony having no competition and just making bad choices because their executives just don't know gaming or what PlayStation fans want.
