I work at a hormanns high performance doors and we build all the Amazon warehouse doors around the area and it’s all manufactured from sheet steel and extruded aluminum and plastic/fabric/nylon rolls. All assembled by locals, and is a great place at my warehouse. Standing and working on concrete for 10 hours a day is a little rough but the work is “simple” but repetitive

My parents have a hormann silent drive opener that's going on 12 years old now and it's been a really nice opener, got it from a company who I helped out on a couple jobs when I was just out of high school, long before I was in business for myself lol

Hormann is a specialty brand of door. That strange tongue and groove you’re complaining about is part of their finger protecting section joint. It is not going to help on a 10’ tall door because you can’t reach the open joint anyway. But that feature is sell-able. It could help make your offering more unique and expensive. Great info on these videos. I’m impressed

I am a Hormann dealer in Illinois. Just a few things...The larger tongue in groove is designed as a part of the anti pinch feature, and due to its size, it also serves as an internal brace/strut. In other words, the door will never bend or sag overtime, and are guaranteed for life. The reason the hinges are contoured is to keep a lower profile to look cleaner.

Everyone’s biggest complaint about this particular brand, is the proprietary hardware. Otherwise it seems like a decent quality door

Horrman doors are ok besides the hinges. Not a fan of the openers.

Hormann doors in the US look like crap. Go on the UK site and download a booklet. 1000% better.
