OMG! This is me! Post menopause, Stage 1 PR/ER+ HER2 - breast cancer. I am miserable. Depressed, anxiety ridden, sleep deprived, walking zombie. Every single menopause symptom you can think of, I have. My oncologist threatened that I would get breast cancer in 3 years if I don’t take an Aromatase inhibitor( Exemestane). I’m furious. My quality of life is so much more important to me. Thank you so much for this information.

What about estriol? Instead of estradiol? i've read about estriol sold online in cream form , maybe it's a safer option? Have no idea but look into it ask doctor

This is such an important (and definitely emotionally charged) discussion. Thank you for opening up the conversation about balancing quality of life with risk of HRT for cancer survivors. What’s the use of living an extra decade or more if “surviving” is full of misery and/or pain?! Go Meno-posse!

Great discussion 💛Yes, an emotive topic. It's just astonishing how politicised oestrogen is. Like you said, when it isn't about babies, there's little interest in women as people in their own right. I'm menopausal, on E, P, VE and T. I haven't had breast cancer, just normal meno, and I've come across medical barriers and very negative attitudes to HRT, and sadly women's suffering is expected to be ok. For women after breast cancer, it seems so, so much more difficult for most of them 😢 Thank you for really getting into the topic logically and compassionately. And for sharing it with everyone. Because we women really need this kind of spoken support from the medical community, putting the right information out there. And we need doctors like yourselves, who are actually giving women the proper treatment and care now, today 🤗🤗xx

This is the conversation I was waiting for. Im a french canadien, stage 2b, and I will surely have informations to share with my oncologist on may 6th in order to make a decision for MYself about endocrinian treatment. Full hysterectomy early 40’s, put on estrogen patch. 5 years later breast cancer, taken off patch and no help whatsoever. Poo-poo’d when I asked for any help at all. Nothing. Then, diagnosed with osteoporosis 5 years after. And I had to fight to get a dexa scan and only got it because I found a Nautropath to refer me. My GP absolutely would not, I was too young. Not only have I been dealing with health issues since my treatments but I’ve been going through menopause for 12 years. Is it too late for me? Is there hormone therapy I can take?

I’m a 17 year breast cancer survivor from age 54. I had a large lobular tumor, 8 chemo infusions, mastectomy with sentinel node biopsy (3 positive nodes out of 11 removed). No radiation, tamoxifen for six months. It hurt my stomach. Last year I went to a Gyn who is a member of the North American Menopause Society. She recommended a 100mg testosterone pellet for brain and bone health, which are the reasons I was seeking help. I’m on my second pellet since December. I love it. Better sleep, more energy, more fun. Good luck!
