Can you talk about the difference between 50 and 75 estradiol. I’ve been on HRT since April and on 75 estradiol for the last five weeks. Unsure if I should stay on it or go back to 50.

Your videos have been a big help for me in understanding the challenges of supporting my wife through menopause. I’d appreciate any advice on how to introduce your videos to her without it coming across the wrong way. She’s open to conversations, but I’m not sure how she’d react. Any tips on how to bring this up in a supportive way?

I have been using Estradiol patches since age 50, post total hysterectomy. I tried to dc them at doctors recommendation at age 65 & felt awful. I am now 76 & my PCP- Family Medicine provider is now telling me I must dc it again . Upon my refusal, she has referred me to a local GYN doc for consult. I am now waiting for appointment to be scheduled . I appreciate your expertise & plan to use your information to argue my position with the new GYN doc . THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!

My doctor act like he didn’t even want to deal with it. Google and god has helped more then any doctor. I was telling my doctor it feels like my brain is zapping when my period is on or about to come on and other symptoms. At one time I was scared to go to sleep thought something was gonna happen to me. The only thing I could do was pray. If you can’t count on the doctor you can always count on god

I got the daily Estradiol gel packs from Alloy, small dose you rub into your thigh, I use it right after my morning shower so it's routine. No problem.

Progesterone didn’t help anything as far as I can tell, but then so much feels off, including thyroid and low cortisol and high blood sugar and high insulin so who knows. I just want to sleep more than 2 hours at a time. It sounds easier to just not supplement at all instead of try this try that. Since when does FDA approved mean safe?!

Thank you! Great video Dr. Hirsch, now I completely understand why I have so much anxiety and I feel so emotional all the time. I’m 47 and I was told I was in beginning perimenopause. I still get my periods but they are short and irregular. At times I get it twice a month or they last only three days than I just spot. I get a lot of breast pain too during my cycle and ovulation time.

Yes this was very, very helpful. I had a hysterectomy at age 36 and I am now 53. Last year menopause symptoms started hitting me hard. I had no idea there were so many symptoms. Thanks for sharing and keep doing what you’re doing.

Can I ask.. what happens if you’re on HRT and have bleeding days during your progesterone tablet phase.. will this ever stop so you can see the one day menopause ? Or do you have to stop HRT for menopause to kick in fully? Thanks

If somebody is already on HRT: is the year without a period still the sign that you are in postmenopause?

This was my question too. My doc said yes, HRT doses are low and supposedly won't completely take over your "cycle".

Im 52 and haven't had a period in 18 months. I still have hot flashes and severe anxiety and the worst is dizziness and blood sugar sensitivity. I take progesterone cream and it helps me sleep and calms down the itching and anxiety, but doesn't get rid of it completely

Thank you. Still want to know why health insurance won't cover HRT for regular menopause. Laws need to be implemented to cover this for ALL women.
@do92915 күн бұрын
It typically is covered but the compounded medications most often are not. The prescription HRT that is covered is bioidentical as Dr. Heather Hirsch has probably talked about in her videos.

Great video - helpful. Do overweight women have excess estrogen that may cause a delay in menopause or skew the estrogen level you note in the video? No one seems to be able to answer this directly for me.

I am 47 and got on HRT on 11/21/24, 2 mg Estradiol blue tablet with 100 mg Progesterone orange capsule. I should have got on it last year at age 46 but my PC & GYN dismissed me because I had regular periods. Women! Do not let this happen to you trust me on this one. My HRT kicked in at 4 wks for itchiness and at 8 wks for joint pain. In 2023 and 2024 I had major hair thinning and in 08/204 the back of my hair, underneath hair broke off up to my mid neck area. Now I understand why most women do not keep long hair. My hair got so dry and brittle almost wirey looking. It’s a F’ing nightmare.
