Yea let's cut the barrel to 18" and Rob a pile of velocity off the projectiles. Yea that makes sense. 😒 🫢
@jaydunbar75382 ай бұрын
Velocity versus portability, it’s been a compromise since the first musket was ever made and the question hasn’t changed. For running can a shorter barrel is nice and that’s what he has it built for so it makes perfect sense. I don’t run cans on hunting rifles so I run 26” barrels on my magnums for that velocity, both work it’s just a personal preference question.
@FC2ESWS2 ай бұрын
Put a 8" suppressor on it and it makes sense.
@AZFarmFun-hp1cu2 ай бұрын
The title makes me cringe. Chopping the barrel neuters the entire reason behind the 6.5 PRC. It’s like mounting tires from a Honda Civic on my Ram 2500. I love your 6.5 PRC, but mine comes out of a proper 24” Tikka barrel.

@FC2ESWS2 ай бұрын
My 18" PRC shoots 143 ELD-X at 2800 fps which is about the same as a 24" Creedmoor. With my 8" suppressor on it, they are about the same length. Putting the same suppressor on a 24" barrel makes it really hard to hunt with.
@MTCKIE682 ай бұрын
Stupid rifle build. Basically, you have a short barrel 6.5 creedmore. I will never understand all of these light short barrel gun builds. If you can't carry 15lbs, don't go hunting, and if you don't know how to carry a 24in heavy barrel gun, don't go hunting. Absolutely pathetic !!

This era of chop your barrel off and drop your rifle a whole class in velocity all to make room for a silencer is so stupid!! People turning 6.5 prc into 6.5 creed 300 win into 308 and 28 nosler into 280 AI is so dumb to me!! Your only going to fire a shot or two hunting and your worried about the loud bang from the rifle but the same people drive their cars with the radio blasting!! If your worried about noise don’t put a brake on the rifle buy noise canceling ear pro this silencer carp is all just an excuse to neuter a rifles velocity!! Everyone thinks these silencers have a cool factor to them but there not cool at all they hinder accuracy and if it didn’t F class shooters would use them and they don’t!! Its a fad that will come and go and everyone that chopped there rifle barrel will regret doing it when the fad is over!!

@@terrycalvert7812talk about a completely lopsided take with zero thought process. @@jaydunbar7538 ya got me!! You’re right I can’t afford one I have two!! I never said the suppressor was what I had the issue with the issue is people cutting there barrels down to 18 and 20 inches because they think they need to to run a suppressor and loosing hundreds of FPS!! All these people that cut their barrels talk about is shooting game at 300, 600, 900 yards so explain to me where in this country can you take a 300 to 900 yard shot in the freakn woods because the only place I could even see where a suppressor might be an issue on a 26 inch barrel would be in the woods your not taking a 600 yard shot in the woods!! But think what you want buy into the Hornady marketing because I’m sure your one of the ones ran right out and bought the 7 prc thinking it was going to best the 7 rem in velocity with 7 less gains case volume and after you did your 100 shot load development that Hornady said you had to do you blamed the chronograph not reading your shots properly!! People just fall for what the hell ever these guys say and 99% of it is bullshit marketing smoke and mirrors false inflated velocity hyped up BC figures and until you learn how to test these things for your self and stop listening to everything they tell you your going to be just as wrong as the fake info your eatting up!! Hell how long did they let people think they was still getting 3000 fps with their factory 7 prc load that they knew was only doing 2800 fps but they let y’all believe you were still getting that 3000 fps didn’t they!! Thats the kinda people I want to take advice from or buy products from!! Have you ever measured a component bullet from Hornady next to a Berger?? Bet not!!
