AMAZING!!! This video just kept me from throwing this in a box under the bench. I use a lot of H335 powder and I have been fighting this dispenser for over a year. A full grain overcharge on every charge. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS as now I can easily set it to slow down much sooner and it stops dead on my target weight.

Fantastic product, hands down the best value in powder dispensers. The only thing that top their products is their no BS warranty. For all the nay sayers its all in the customizable programming of the speed of throw and tricking. After watching this video it takes five minutes tom set up and dial in. Don't complain and blame the product if you do not posses the aptitude to run the device!

I was excited to purchase this product about 6 months ago but as the video shows, it constantly overcharges. Even using all the techniques in this video more than half the time with stick or flake powder it consistently overcharges up to a half grain or so. It's become more trouble than it's worth for me and I find myself just using the dippers and weighing the charges manually for my smaller runs which is about the same speed as using this thing. Not to mention no cleanup afterwards. If this thing threw accurately 99% of the time like it should then it would be a Godsend but as it stands it's just not reliable enough and actually adds time to the reload process. Thanks for this video though.

I purchased The Hornady Lock-N-Load Automatic Powder Dispenser approximately a years and a half ago. Lately I been having issues with its functionality. The ENTER button is malfunctioning intermittently. When pressed during overcharge condition., it does not display the actual weight of the charge on the pan. The unit is basically stuck, requiring the unit be turned off thus loosing its setting. I called Hornady customer support for assistance. I was told to unplugged the unit's power supply for an extended period of time, then plug it in and turned the unit back on. I asked the “What if” question. I was told that there is nothing that can be done should the unit not work correctly. This answer is disheartening. I was told the unit it not repairable. The Hornady Lock-N-Load Automatic Powder Dispenser has a one year warranty. After a year, pray that it does not break because you bought a throw away unit. Save your hard earned money, buy something with a better manufacturer's support.

To me it seems faster to throw a charge short of the target weight with a manual powder dispenser and then trickle it your self with manual trickler into your scale pan.

As a safety measure, you shouldn't have more than one can of powder on your loading bench at a time. It's possible to return the powder to the wrong can.

That's why extruded powder sucks in this scale. Every other powder works very well. Now flake powder is also a bad one. So me as a consumer user, I prefer to try to use a fine, or a ball powder if you plan to load several thousand rounds of ammo, you will get pissed. Now on the other hand, this man is showing you proof on extruded powder and right off the bat, you can see how discouraging it is. If you have a small batch, it might not be so bad to go threw all those steps. So you be your own judge. Me I would find a powder that is available in a fine or ball. I had to give up Vihtavuori N130 my favorite powder. Because I load for prairie dog hunting. And that's a couple of thousand rounds, so can you imagine how much of a pain that would be in this scale? Don't get me wrong, I own and love this scale. But I just thought I would comment on this. And I would like to give special thanks to the man who represents Hornady on making this video.

16:08. "even tho you saw that number hit 60.1 it's a correct charge due to its allowance of .1 grains". No, it is not a correct charge. The machine decided to not only accept the .1 overcharge, it falsely displays the correct charge weight to fool the operator into thinking he has a correct charge. That is the only thing stopping me from trying one of these because I know I'll have to double check each load when I'm looking for precision.

Hey anyone out there! I need your help I have always used accurite powder 2230. I have been told by many to use Hodgon Vargent powder. My AP powder drop does not like this powder I can't get consistent weights and I loose a lot of powde that falls out from around the cartridge when I lower it some weights are good most are not. I have readjusted the powder drop till it started bulging the rounds. Then I slowly backed of till I wasn't crushing case. Some would load with out spoils but most don't. Please help me out Larry

I have one and works great you just have to make it trickle earlier which if you read the instructions helps alot as well as changing the trickle speed. I use varget and have mine set to trickle ar 1.6 grains before I get to my load and at trickle speed of .6. I rarely overthrow.

Well I have stopped using this POS because I have spent hours adjusting ,Trickle , Adjusting everything on this POS that can be adjusted , It has this tendency to run a few rounds good , even though it is slower than molasses to trickle up then, wait oh no overcharge . I have called Hornady and I actually thought we had it fixed !! Wrong this thing will give you approx. 10 good loads and then it starts this over charge crap again .. Fixing to buy the RCBS its a real machine . Thinking on shooting a hole in this one and sending it back to hornady ....

I dont know who developped the program that drives the electronic but they did a very bad job. It is totally counter intuitive, hornady should make a newer version to correct this and it would be a much more usefull product.

Mine has stopped responding to most inputs. Will not run 'slow' speed despite the setting. Over charges at least one full grain per dispensing, will not accept commands such as CANCEL once a charge had been entered. It is now trash that will go in the garbage as soon as the Redding Manual Dispenser arrives. To be fair, the unit was exposed to temperatures up to about 100F in my garage. It might work better if you have a climate controlled loading area.

Ive owned this POS for about 5 years now. Paid way too much for it considering no matter how much I slow the speed and trickle down, it overcharges 40% of the time. I like most of my Hornady products, just not this one.

Who the hell designed your program. Not intuitive at all. The machine should automatically know to slow down the speed if it has two overcharges. Then he had to reset the weight. Did you ever think that for one charge it took over 10 minutes of set up and multiple modes to get there. I was going to buy one of these but your engineers aren’t very good.

Well it’s garbage, I am going to put this thing as well as my beam scale and my expensive hornady electronic digital scale on a load of tanerite on a quick trip to the moon even though I know they will not make it I am sick and tired of paying money for sub quality reloading equipment.. I reload for precision not for my health.. I guess I am going to step up my game and go with Dillon or such . Hornady I will be calling you, and hopefully you have a junk buy back program?

The auto charge is a piece of shit. Never throws accurate charges. Using this scale you won't hand load better ammunition than factory. The variations are ridiculous. Do yourself a favour and get an rcbs chargemaster or a&d fx120i with auto throw
