Hornbill Hit By Vehicle; Bird Lovers Feed Female, Birdling | Mathrubhumi News

Athirappilly: When a male hornbill, while searching food for its mate and young ones, was hit and run over by a vehicle in the forest path, its little birdling was starving in the nest sealed with mud. A few people found berries inside the beak of the dead bird. They knew that the mother bird would be waiting for food in the nest. They searched for the nest for hours and finally found it atop a 25 feet single trunk tree. Some of them climbed the tree using a bamboo ladder and fed the mother bird with fig fruit and wild jackfruit.The bird lovers found its nest and fed the birdling and mother by Thursday afternoon. They keep feeding the birds every hour.

ഒരു നിമിഷം ഞാൻ കരഞ്ഞു.. ആ ആൺ വേഴാമ്പലിന്റെ പ്രാണൻ പോകുമ്പോഴും അതിന്റെ വായിൽ പഴങ്ങള് അത് കളയാതെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇത് പോലെ എത്രയോ പക്ഷികള് നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിൽ വെള്ളം കിട്ടാതെയും ഭക്ഷണം കിട്ടാതെയും മരിക്കുന്നു. നമുക്ക് ചെയ്യാൻ പറ്റുന്ന ചെറിയ ഒരു കാര്യം ഉണ്ട് നമ്മുടെ വീടിന്റെ മുകളിലോ മരത്തിന്റെ ചുവട്ടിലോ നമ്മളെ കളയുന്ന ഭക്ഷണം, വെള്ളം ഇത് ഒരുക്കി കൊടുക്കുക.......നന്മ ചെയ്യുക. നല്ലത് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുക,സഹജീവികളോട് കരുണ കാണിക്കുക
