Thanks, George. This conversion worked well, but I'm still not super happy with how the loco performs when it has to actually pull the mk4 coaches. Still need to keep tinkering with this one. Iain

Nice :) thanks for doing this vid, I have a bunch of 80s ringfields that I intent putting CD motors in so this is very helpful :)

I also just got back from a UK trip and picked up a couple of items, also an ex pat living in Seattle. Although still building up my collection slowly and planning for any permanent layout is probably a little way off. But getting lots of ideas from the folk on KZbin. I plan on building a BR late 70’s into the 80’s layout.

Thanks for getting in touch, Mark. There's a ton on great layouts of that era on KZbin to give you inspiration. I took my time planning out what I wanted, and the layout has slowly then been coming together over the past year. Not many ex-pats I know of around Seattle that are into these kinds of layouts, so always happy to chat more or get together! Iain

Newcastle Central (OO Gauge) sounds good Ian. Let me know the best way to connect outside of KZbin off line such as mail or you can find me on something like LinkedIn

Hi I know its a while since you completed the changing of the ringfield motor but was wondering if you have seen the adaptor from Strathpeffer Junction, enjoying catching up with your layout of the toon central

Yes, I've seen it. I don't have one, but I'm sure his quality is excellent. There are other 3D printed options available (I've printed my own from an on-line design), but I haven't felt the need to switch it in to a loco. Worth trying though, as it would simplify the modification. Thanks for watching and following along. Iain
