Absolutely brilliant. Lovely bit of shunting. sometimes simple is the most satisfying.

@gregmacdonald927 thanks Greg. It certainly is easier especially when there are 2, 3, 4 parallel tracks. I would have done all the wagons but that would have been a little boring lol. The portable layout will be even better next time out.

I like the traditional tension couplings. Simon Kohler said Hornby had considered using these, but decided against it to maintain compatibility with continental models. I think this would only apply if you were modelling Channel Tunnel freight! There is quite a lot of interest in TT:120 in Germany, so Hornby has an eye on that market. Thanks for uploading.

@AllensTrains I know one or two people have some continental wagons on their layout but most of it is wrong scale wise. Both Hornby and Europeans use 120 buy with the European loading gauge larger than the British one their wagons are too big. For wagons to run on our tracks some wagons were built smaller to our loading gauge and have some designated mark on them. Even in days of steam, the Night Ferry sleeper had so many sleepers specially built smaller to cross the channel.

@@garryhall5552 The continental standard is called "Berne Gauge". There are loading gauge restrictions within Britain. A Eurostar can't go to Eastbourne!

Intreaged to know how this shunting magic is achieved. May be obvious to a lot of viewers, but this numpty needs to be held by the hand and have everything explained to him teddy bear fashioned... A nice little 'How I did this tutorial would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 🤔👍

@kenfox7917 basically Ken all I do is pull out the Hornby coupling and push in the direct replacement 009 coupling. The couplings have two droppers and use an uncoupling ramp similar to the original Tri-ang 00 standard and series 3 tracks.

Hi again Gary, could you please let me know the Part Number and Supplier. Thanks, Ken.

@kenfox7917 the Tillig uncouplers are 83201, Backmann couplings 396001.

Hi Gary are these the TT8013 couplers? I just couldn’t tell whether you’ve got them wired up or not but it seems to work very well. Some people have said they need to be adjusted a thou up or down. I don’t know if you found this was necessary yourself I’m now at the stage at looking at couplers for my new main layout. Any help you could give me would be most valuable at this time thank you matey. Cheers Steve.

@stevio7777 the couplings are Bachmann 396001. I have not done anything for up or down, the mounts do vary slightly but the loop shape seems to push up okay. I did have to file the front of the couple a little to allow the loops to drop over the "peg".
