I played through (most of) the game without fighting Hornet in Greenpath, then went back and fought Hornet 2 and Hornet 1. It's pretty fun to go through the game without dash (warning, if you want to try this it does require some glitches and some content isn't accessible). I could've gotten Nailmaster's Glory before fighting Hornet but I forgot about it, unfortunately. Hornet 1 is also way slower than Hornet 2, which is even more evident when fighting them both in quick succession.

Probably, if you defeated Hornet 2 then went to the Abyss. There shouldn't be anything that absolutely requires dash in the Shade Cloak room, though you can't get the Arcane Egg or the Void Tendrils entry.

So, if you have shade cloak, but not mothwing, what's your dashing capablity? Can you only shadow dash? Does the game act as if you already have mothwing? Or can you still not dash at all?

@@Thesaurus_Rex You technically can't get Shadow dash without getting Mothwing Cloak since there are places that are inaccessible in order to get it. But, assuming that you somehow glitched the game and got to the room in the Abyss and and got the upgrade, I guess it would just act as if you had the Mothwing Cloak.

Comcata JC he used a bunch of tricks to cross gaps (spike pogos, enemy pogos, etc) and he also has double jump and crystal dash so he dosnt need dash

I actually played through the game legitimately w/o dash (actually twice now). I guess you could believe I spawned everything if you wanted, but with 500+ hours in Hollow Knight (on Steam) I don't really see any reason why I'd use something like Debug Mod for this.

Yes, I'm sure. In fact, I've recently uploaded a video demonstrating how to duplicate items in the vanilla game. Perhaps it's a bit off-putting, but I find glitching the game provides a novel mode of entertainment after 40-odd complete playthroughs of the game.

Hi, im also always surprised getting recognized in the weirdest places. And i do know her dialogue strongly suggests that she was holding back, since there are variations of enemies in this game that have different health and Hornet was planned as playable character, i can see her getting stronger just as well. The fact that she also gained a new attack instead of just getting a stat buff speaks for that as well imo o/
