Whoever is behind that gun needs to know that you are suppose to put the dot on the pig's snout when it is running, and most of the shots are too low. Either set your scope to shoot an inch or two higher at 100 yards and you will quit all of the missing. Just try this friendly advice and you will learn a little something from somebody who is a Master of Arms and have been shooting for well over 50 years.

All good piggies go on the spit...the rest? Fertilizer or coyote bait. (Seriously though, I'd say that they're not unlike any other "wild" meat that's harvested...it depends upon what they're eating. Also, the younger they are, the better eating they make.)

Yup...the Keith Warren, Carp Sauce (yeah, I spelled it wrong), and Tim Wells' "play by play" commentary wears on ya real quick. I believe that they just like to hear themselves talk. Then, you got the bunch who want to grow up and be VJ's, DJ's, and musical score creators are a couple others. All that stuff just yanks the realism and enjoyment right out of the vids. Almost like they think that they're teaching a bunch of first graders. I'm sure that they're fine people, but damn. Hell, my daughter (started her in the woods and on the water when she was 5-6yrs old) and ex-wife don't ratchet-jaw like that. Speaking of my daughter, she's like her mom...the poor thing is uncoordinated as hell. But, if I'm lyin, I'm dyin, when I say she took to a fishing rod and shootin iron like she was born with em. Admittedly, I'm biased, but aren't we dads supposed to be lol?

You KILLED about 85% of the ones that were standing still, you HIT about 12% of the ones that were running. You need to lead farther in front of the hog if they are running perpendicular, You need to keep your gun moving at the same pace as the animal all the way through your shot (don't stop pacing the target as you pull the trigger or your round will go to where the hog WAS, not where it IS). Also you shot too low on over half the shots. Please understand I'm not knocking your video, just trying to help you get a higher success rate.
@VintageNomad02755 жыл бұрын
mcluvn1000 you sure called that right. Yeah it's easy for us to criticize but dude take time with your shots. How many were running on 3 legs after your first shot? A bunch from what I saw. I saw one that looked like you blew his jaw off. They are pests yeah but we shouldn't be like animals.

Being on "video" makes anything look a hell of a lot easier. Shooting in the dark, at distance, through night vision, at a moving target, mostly free-handed, with the only aid being some shooting sticks (sometimes), is a lot harder than most think if one hasn't done it themselves. Also, these things have been termed an "invasive species," and coupled with the destruction they're capable of, "rules" go out the window. They've ceased to be "game" animals, and it's extermination with extreme prejudice. What's not shown in the vast majority of these vids is the amount of property and/or crops destroyed. Estimates vary depending on the source, but it's pretty safe to say that even a small group of hogs can destroy three acres overnight. I'll not relate all of the statistics, save one. Feral hogs are directly responsible for the failure of one in three new farms and ranches. Annual monetary damages are well into the hundreds of millions of dollars, and that's without considering the lasting environmental impact on the land and the native species that are supposed to be in a given area. There are some videos here on KZbin that plainly show the damages these things are capable of. "Couch-quarterbacking" these dude's shooting skills is a bit crass, and unwarranted. They're making the effort to save their own livelihoods and heritage. This is NOT hunting...nowhere close. It's the eradication of a pest. Just sayin...
