Instead of scoffing that this $17 watch is inferior to a $17,000 rolex you should be marvelling at how amazing it is that it's been made for such a stunningly low price. It's not supposed to be a high-end marvel of horology. It's just a watch, and for what it is it's very impressive

Whereas someone like me, would buy all the needed tools and cleaners and lubricants etc. Buy the watch. Begin to very carefully take it apart... then realize I failed entirely to grasp beforehand what a monumental undertaking it is to even take it apart without catastrofically breaking it in the process. Then if I managed to take it apart, I would then realize I failed entirely to properly document the process of taking it apart so I would have NO CLUE how to put it back together again and ultimately it would be a pile of parts collecting dust. Yet another tribute to the pile of things I have failed at more times than I care to count.

Dare I say when you oiled the pallet the first leg of the escape took a major blob and when Ive done this I see it later on the timegraph results. For £17 its incredible though as to make that in the UK not even the minute wheel could be made for that price! Keep them coming pal this video will do very well.

While we all love to bash China and Aliexpress for cheap products, I think we should give due credit to Chinese manufacturing for producing this time piece and other products at such a cost that any one can buy , enjoy or smash these gadgets. One would agree that before China became a major producer of RC hobby products, that field was prohibitively expensive. Now almost every one who wants has some form of RC toy, high power led lights and very cheap fun toys and gadgets.

supposedly a lot of these Chinese firms use random letters as their brand name cos it's easier to trademark it. if you give it a proper name, you need to do a lot of research to make sure that it's not already trademarked, random letters on the other hand arent trademarked. nice projet - oils cost more than the watch itself ...🤣 but still a good way to learn ... & not a big risk

Really loved this video, first time viewer and new Subscriber!! I'm so glad this popped up on to my feed. I will be watching your videos regularly now! What a great series for someone like myself who would be interested in purchasing and learning with a cheaper watch for this hobby!

Thanks for watching. You are right, a cheap full working mechanical watch like this would be a great very low risk watch to learn on.

17 Dollarfür eine Uhr. Erstaunlich!👍 Es zeigt mir wieder, dass die Luxus Uhren völlig überteuert sind.

Thats incredible for $17, how on earth could they assemble it for that price let alone make all the parts. Seems amazing they would have all the technology to make these parts etc and then just throw it together with no lube.

Wow, this video was like a breath of fresh air in a world of mundane content, Love the idea of letting the wind out before working on a mechanical watch.

Would this be a good 1st watch ti try and pull apart and put back together? Id like to try but i dont want to ruin something old or nice.

yes, but japanese, swiss, chinese, indian, ect movements have minor differences in the arrangement of parts. an ali express watch movement likely wont have the same order in disassembly as your first swiss movement. but the practice is helpful and will teach you crucial skills.

Yes for sure, because you know it runs when you bought it and parts are not worn.
